It was late. The kind of late where even the night insects had gone quiet, letting silence roll like mist over the mountain. Y/N-Isshin, in his human vessel form sat barefoot in the overgrown garden of his hidden shrine.
Moonlight painted silver streaks across the mossy stones, making everything glow like a scene from an old, forgotten dream.
He stared up, gaze locked onto the glowing luna above.
Or rather-her.
He didn't flinch when he heard footsteps. He already knew who it was. That comforting cadence, the hum that followed her like a lullaby only he could hear.
Moona joined him without a word, kneeling beside him with the elegance of a Goddess and the familiarity of a wife. She held out a steaming cup of tea-honeyed, floral, exactly how he liked it.
"You seem pensive," she said softly, brushing a strand of his hair behind his ear as he took the cup.
He sipped in silence, letting the warmth settle in his chest before answering. "Just... remembering."
She tilted her head slightly, waiting.
"..When all I cared about was.. Nothing," he continued, voice low. "Fights, blood, everything was just passing through for me, I never stopped for anyone, never settling down to rest."

"Where is your rage? Where is your hate for me? Will your promise to kill me be nulled by your growing compassion?"
"Hate me, despise me, kill me however you want. If that would satisfy your rage. Buffa."
...
"With fighting skills like that, don't you think your sister would be disappointed if you joined her too soon?"
"Become stronger, be not afraid and turn that loneliness into strength.. Tycoon."
"Fulfill that Peace that you seek."
...
"Pick up the gun, Na-Go."
"Realize your dream, and find true love — For that, is your right."
..
.
"You cared too much for a stranger who doesn't even want your affection, Moon Presence."
...
...
--
There was no sadness in his voice, just quiet recollection. As if talking about another life, another him-one made of smoke and, not bones and love.
Moona gave a thoughtful hum, before giggling - The sound bringing a pleasant note to his ear everytime. "Now you care about snacks, games, naps, and being stubborn."
That earned a chuckle from him. The kind that rumbled in his throat, not his chest.
"And you," he added without a beat.
