When both of them entered the living room, they froze on the spot. Ji-eun was standing right in the middle, flanked by Jin, Yoonji, Jimin, and Yoo-si — all with expressions that spelled trouble in bold, capital letters.
Both Jungkook and Taehyung instinctively took two steps back when they noticed the sweet — too sweet — smile on Ji-eun’s face.
"Taehyung-ie, baby, come here. You don’t have to be scared. This bunny should be the one trembling right now," Ji-eun said sweetly, eyes never leaving Jungkook.
And how could Taehyung say no to his mother-in-law? So...
Jungkook watched with a betrayed expression as his Tae-baby gave him an apologetic smile and quietly went to stand behind his mom.
"Now, now can you explain why did it take 30 minutes to find this medicine bag, my baby kookie.. " The veryyyyyy sweet voice of Ji-eun's terrified the poor boy...
Jungkook gulped. Hard.
He looked around like a cornered bunny searching for an escape route, but everyone’s eyes were fixed on him — some amused (Jimin), some judging (Yoonji), some with sympathy (Yoo-si) , some utterly unreadable (Jin, aka the silent executioner) and some with apologetic smile (Tae)
“Uh... I-I...” Jungkook stuttered, scratching the back of his neck, the universal bunny sign of I messed up real bad.
“He searched the wrong car for 30 minutes,” Taehyung mumbled under his breath, not loud enough to betray his hyung, but loud enough for the entire room to hear.
“YAH!” Jungkook turned to him, wide-eyed in betrayal.
But it was too late.
“The wrong car?” Ji-eun repeated slowly, blinking. “You mean... not the one we arrived in?”
Jungkook nodded sheepishly, his eyes glued to the floor, hoping it would swallow him whole.
“Oh my god, How the hell I gave birth to a bunny with zero brain cells,” Ji-eun dramatically declared, placing a hand on her chest while everyone else burst into laughter — except Jungkook, who was internally sobbing.
“But I still don’t understand how you didn’t notice the car,” Yoo-si said, her brows furrowed in genuine confusion.
Jungkook gave a sheepish smile. “I-I got confused… and then Taehyung came… and I forgot…”
“Oh, so you forgot why you went out in the first place just because your fiancé showed up?” Jin said, arms crossed, looking utterly betrayed. “And here I thought you are the responsible one in the family?”
Yoo-si sighed dramatically from the side. “At least the boy’s consistent. Dumb, but consistent.”
Even Jimin was biting back a laugh, hiding behind his hand.
Meanwhile, Taehyung just stood quietly beside Ji-eun, trying not to laugh and failing terribly, shoulders shaking as he covered his mouth.
Jungkook, on the other hand, was seriously reconsidering his life choices.
At that moment, all the gents walked into the living room and froze upon seeing Jungkook being interrogated like a criminal.
The first to break the silence was Jong-suk.
“Eun-ie, what did this overgrown bunny do now?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hearing Jong-suk’s voice, all the ladies and bottoms turned their heads toward the living room door.
“Ohh, look who’s here. Come, Mr. Jeon Jong-suk, come and hear what your dumb son has done now,” Ji-eun said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
