Chapter 2: New Routine

Depuis le début

As she checked in, she felt a vibration from her back pocket, she quickly removed her phone to check who is it. It was her best friend, Violet who was checking on her and quickly replied that she was in the building and already checked in. As she was scrolling something after chatting with Violet, she didn't look up from her phone, allowing her feet to guide her to get into the elevator, without glancing up, she pressed the button and hearing a small ding, she went inside.

Feeling happy about it, when she saw her text saying that if she needed anything and would try to help as much as she could. Kai replied back that if she needed anything as well, and she would try her best to help.

She replied that she was inside the elevator. She mentioned that she would text her after her shift.

Switching her phone off as the door slides open, she carefully closes her emotions off and puts her work act up as she walks out, straightens her back up, and forces her body language to feel professional as she moves forward down the hallway to meet her new boss to discuss with work stuff.

It was the end of the day. Kai sighs when she came out of the elevator, feeling exhausted after moving around and there were meetings back to back on her first day which was....interesting, but it was tiring and what was worse- her social battery really drained her, and she just wanted to crash on her bed and sleep forever, and would never wake up the next days, or week or months or years- who cares if she wasted her life away, sleeping a lot.

She clocked out, sliding her ID on the scanner as her body went on autopilot. She took a swift left to where the basement would be. Pressing the button, impatiently waiting for it to open so she could go home faster but realized it would take time to find her car in the parking lot and she realized for a minute and remembered that she parked her car somewhere and suddenly she regretted now

A ding alerts her, off she goes inside the elevator and presses the basement floor. She swipes her phone out of her pocket to check any messages. A ton of notifications have popped up and it was her group chat that had brought her smile as her tired eyes lit up, quickly opened it to click on the messages to see what was happening, and did her best to reply to most of it.

She uses this opportunity to pass the time while in the elevator since she was finally done with her work and can talk to them, and it does make her feel a little bit better than ever. She types away on her phone, talking about just mundane things.

One minute later, a ding with a monotone voice saying basement floor, Kai didn't bother to look up to walk out as she continued to chat with them. She glances up from her phone, and walks through the basement hall, looking around, trying to use her mind to rack through her memory of where she parked her car.

She hopes that she parked it somewhere nearby. No, she didn't—of course not.

She start to groan at the thought of walking further. So, she quickly replied to her friends that she would chat later as she really needed to find her car quickly.

After five minutes of attempting to find her car, she realized she'd have to use her key to alert her where she had parked it, she smacked her palm on her forehead, feeling like an idiot right now but then again she was really tired.

She presses her key to find the beep somewhere even though her deaf ass can't hear far but she can use her other senses like her eyes right now.

It took her a few minutes to scan around to find the blinking lights as she walked through the hall aimlessly.
