Eyes Like the Moon
A strange picture prompt for creative writing
-a villinelle-

Out comes the owls with the raccoons
who mother died giving birth,
a bloody shade of maroon.

The young owl is immune
to their suffering because of his rebirth.
His bright and eager eyes like the moon.

The moon rises like a balloon
in the shadows of the Earth,
as a beautiful shade of maroon.

On a cold night in June,
the graceful owl flies over the Earth
with eyes like the moon.

In a couple days, soon,
the moon has its own rebirth
behind a hot shade of maroon.

Nights after the typhoon,
with a passion as warm as a hearth,
and as red as a shade of maroon.
It soar happily with eyes like the moon.
