Not Everybody Wants Love
Written in free time during Creative Writing to practice pantoums, published in school magazine.
-a pantoum-

Not everybody wants to be loved.
I do not need to be serenaded
or to be told "I love you."
Such things feel toxic to me.

I do not need to be serenaded
or to be gifted with flowers.
Such things feel toxic to me.
I do not need a guy to hold the door

or to be gifted with flowers.
Nothing makes me cringe more.
I do not need a guy to hold the door.
My relationships will never work out because

Nothing makes me cringe more
or to be told "I love you."
My relationships will never work out because
not everybody wants to be loved.
