Echoes of Elysium

As they kept going Kazeem still had a troubling feeling in his heart.. he wanted to ask Ay a question but decided not to, it might be upsetting because with the look of things, they hold 14 in high regards. Kazeem and Ndidi both went different path and bid themselves farewell and promised they would see later.. Ay and Kazeem were all alone and Kazeem had to break the silence but Ay was much faster.
"seems you really like her?" Ay said why putting up a smile.
"who??? Ndidi??, pffft.... Someone that tried to kill me twice."
Ay laughed at Kazeem when he saw the look on his face... "means she's really into you if you ask me.. trying to kill you, twice!,,, they must be some intense chemistry between you two," Ay chuckled.

"very funny... I should say thesame about you and that crazy lady at the meeting."

"huh, you mean Urulla????" Ay wanted to defend himself then he smirked... "i see what you wanted to do there," he rubbed Kazeem's head. "at least she hasn't tried to kill me, unlike you," Ay mocked.

"hey hey hey, we are not a thing... I won't say thesame for you though," Kazeem countered.

"whatever makes you sleep at night Kazeem," he smiled. Kazeem waved Ay's words with his hands in disarray and his face got a little bit serious this time.
"what's this place," he said calmly.
Ay stopped, took a deep breathe and looked at him.
"thats not the question you wanted to ask, now is it."

Kazeem acted as if he doesn't know what he was talking about, but indeed he was right. Something has always been bothering about 14 but he just needs his doubt to be put away.

"its about the leader, right??" Ay kept looking at him for awhile.. "lets keep going," he walked making Kazeem to follow. "well, you might think he's after the Elyi but you have no idea... He's name is 14, well that's what he said it is." Ay stopped talking for a brief moment when someone passed him then he continued. "he is the 14 person trying to find it," he added..

"i don't understand? You mean they have been thirteen people before him in search of that device?" Kazeem shocked.

Ay nodded. "it got to a point when they gave up, well number 12 gave up on the search and he focused on making this place, a place for the abandoned, an utopia to protect and to build, shielding us from the Chaos that looms the world.... But something happened that 12 was so scared off that he needed us to get off this place before he died..."

"was it what happened to Arinze," Kazeem becoming more interested as his voice went lower. Ay nodded. "that looks like something we all ought to tell the world about.. who would even care??? The world is in shambles already." Suddenly kazeem heard a beeping sound near Ay... Ay stopped and tapped his ear and told kazeem he has to go that something just came up.. he directed Kazeem to his room telling him to take two turns before he sees a room with the alphabet Q. He left Kazeem in a hurry increasing his pace.. Kazeem could wonder what was urgent that he had to leave in such a hurry..

He took the direction that Ay told him and arrived at his room. He looked up at the entrance, he saw the letter Q, it was made of iron and few part was rusted.. he took a deep breathe and walked in. It's warm, spacious. He saw two bunk beds and he knew someone would be joining him. He went towards the down part of the bed and fell on it with exhaustion.. it's smooth, smells clean too, he sighed not the one of exhaustion but relief, he turned facing up, it's been long he has had a good place to sleep for awhile, it feels like paradise for kazeem. Suddenly he heard a noise, he twisted sharply to his left asking who was it but no answer. He thought it was his minds and ears playing tricks on him, he shrugged it off. Just as he was about to submerge in the sheet of the bed, the same noice continued but was louder this time, sounded human... kazeem knew someone or something was in here, he stood up immediately.
"if anyone is here, please show yourself," he said reaching slowly for his retractable gun, he wasn't scared at least, what could attack him here, he's armed at least and can defend himself. Just within the fraction of a second, he heard a male voice.
"you are disrupting my concentration," the stranger said. Kazeem looked the other way and saw the stranger fidgeting with a device, it has locks and symbols on them. He was on the floor with his back placed on the wall. Kazeem was surprised because he swore that nobody was there before.
