'Oh. my. God. You are wearing that to a party?' Gina practically choked out every word like someone was strangling her as we piled into Dylan's car to go to Aidan's house. I panicked at her comment and looked at myself, I am wearing one of her old (they are still relatively new) plaid shirt and a pair of denim shorts that I had to cut from her old jeans since they were all too long for me.

My parents think that it would be 'green' for Gina to pass on all her old clothes to me when she doesn't want them anymore (which is a lot, since she only wear the same thing three times at the most). My mum must be very thankful we are the same sizes. And Gina is a bit of a crazy shopper, so I rarely have the need to shop.

Satisfied that I looked causal but still more dressed up than usual, I turned around and looked at Gina. 'I am not going to the party. I am going to be upstairs with Andrew, remember?' I replied, looking at Gina through the mirror. She just shook her head, still frowning at my outfit.

'Why don't you wear the dress that I gave you, the cute little purple one from French Connection?' she asked, apparently she was not letting this drop easily. Dylan found this situation very amusing, since he let go of his keys after putting it in the ignition and turned around to look at us instead.

I have now turned my entire body around too, so that I could look clearly at Gina's face and she looked dead serious.

Dylan looked over what I am wearing, and didn't seems to find a problem, and he is a guy, so his opinions counts more. But Gina just shook her head, and leaned back on the seat.

'Just go, I shouldn't have expect anything anyway.' She said, waving her left hand while massaging her temple with her right hand, Dylan chuckled and started the engine. I rolled my eyes at my sister, the drama queen. I would be laughed at even more if I wore a dress, even I know that much. I would rather be the nerd than the wannabes.

Like my brother, my sister is the IT girl in my school, she is now going to be in her senior year and she is the head cheerleader in school. Blond, beautiful and smart (relative to standards of cheerleaders, kidding), there is no question that she will rule the school next year. It's kind of weird how Aidan isn't pining after her like all the other jocks in school but with Whitney, the reincarnation of the wicked witch.

Aidan's house was only half an hour's drive away from our house. As we entered the street it is already crowded with cars from what it looks like the entire student body of Everwood high school. Aidan Owen was well on his way to be the second most popular guy in the history of Everwood high, right after my brother when he becomes a senior. I mean, this many people had turn up for his party, and he is only going to be a junior in fall.

Dylan had to park like seven houses away and we practically had to shove people out of the way to even get into the house. Once we were inside the house Gina was immediately surrounded by her cheerleader friends and disappeared off somewhere. Dylan grabbed hold of my arm and we made our way upstairs.

'Hey man, so glad you can make it.' Aidan must had seen us came in, because the next thing I knew he was right behind us, my heart started to work double time and I could feel myself blushing so I lowered my head. He and Dylan did one of those really complicated guy's handshake and then he led us down the corridor.

'Stay here, I will come and get you when we leave.' Dylan said to me, as we stood outside a room which door sign reads: 'Come in at your own risk' with a skull underneath it. I couldn't help but smiled, typical Andy.

Andy must have heard us coming, because he opened the door, when he saw me he gave me a smile and waved me in. I turned around to see that my brother and Aidan have already gone, typical jocks. Aidan didn't even speak to me, it's like I am invisible, great.

'Thanks for letting me stay in your room.' I said, putting my bag down on the floor and then sitting next to it. Andy walked back to his table and sat back down.

'No problems, it's not like my brother would have let me say no to that anyway, he wanted your brother and sister to come so badly.' Andy replied, turning his chair around to face me. 'If the Montroses aren't here, then this party wouldn't be a hit.' he did an imitation of Aidan's voice, but sounded more like Sponge-bob.

I laughed, I have heard these comments to many times to feel even a little hurt by it, although coming from Aidan, it stung a little. Like me, Andy isn't part of the popular crew. He isn't into sport, he is more of an artsy person. Which would have been fine, but he is honest and likes to speak his own mind about everything, for example saying stuff like he thinks the school spends way to much money on sports and how he thinks parties and proms are for the socially insecure. Therefore after insulting some of the popular people one too many times they just decided that he can't be one of them. They can't do anything to him because he is Aidan Owen's little brother, and some of the popular kids still like him, and he is not hideous (like me) he is not ignored and laughed at in school like me.

'Come on, I would let you share my desk.' Andy started to clear half of his desk making room for me. He is one of the friendliest person I have ever met, not as handsome as his brother, but he talks to me like I am normal. We are not great friends, but we shared most classes since elementary school, we talk to each other in class, we practically know each other all our lives, it's just we are not close.

'It's OK, I will just stay on the floor and read.' I replied. I am not too comfortable being in a room with someone else who I am not friends friend with (social awkwardness), and I hate bothering people. Andy looked at me, then sighed, he walked to his shelf of CDs and DVDs, picking out one at random and walked to the TV in his room.

'What are you doing?' I asked, as he turned on the DVD player and TV. After he was done he sat on his bed and looked at me. 'I guessed you might be like this, so we are watching a movie, I would rather not work with someone sitting behind me like a ghost. It's kind of creepy.'

'Well I can read in the bathroom if you want.' I said, a smile tugging at the end of my lips, Andy is very easy to be around with, the awkwardness diffused a little, but came back when we fell back into the awkward silence as the conversation ended. Then the credits comes on and I saw which movie he chose. 'Oh my god, Zoolander?' I exclaimed, Andy laughed at my reaction and nodded.

'Interested now?' he teased, I ignored him and put my book down turning to face towards the TV. Andy frowned and patted the empty space on his bed. 'Come on, I don't bite.'

I eyed the space next to Andy. He had a double bed, so there were plenty of space for me to sit without being too close to Andy. I am not good at interaction with boys so I don't want to give him the wrong signal.

Andy must had understood what I was thinking, because he rolled his eyes and shook his head. 'Come on Montrose, the entire school is just outside, what do you think I am going to do?'

I smiled, knowing that he said this to make me feel less awkward, so I obliged and sat down next to him on his bed as he pressed play.
