After the meeting, I found myself lingering in the office to finish some pressing work. The three employees implicated in the embezzlement scandal had been temporarily detained, awaiting further investigation. I intended to sift through the records, unearthing any past discrepancies before deciding their fate. A nagging suspicion lingered in my mind about Mr. Wolfman; I couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't as innocent as he appeared.

After combing through the files, I placed everyone under compulsory travel restrictions until the investigation concluded.

After working tirelessly, Cadmus arrived to pick me up, whisking me away to meet Nic. Knowing that most of the employees had already left for the day, I strode confidently into the building.

"Lavender!" I heard a voice call out just as I was leaning against the elevator wall, waiting for the doors to open. I glanced away from my phone and smiled; it was Giovanna.

She stood there in black tailored pants that hugged her figure perfectly, paired with a long flannel shirt that accentuated her curves. The first three buttons were undone, revealing a generous hint of cleavage, enhanced further by a push-up bra. Her makeup was more dramatic than usual, highlighting her face, and she towered over me in seven-inch heels.

What was with her getup? It was a striking transformation, and I couldn't help but wonder what had prompted her to dress so boldly today.

"Giovanna, you look incredible!" I remarked, giving her an appreciative once-over. She swayed her hips playfully, smacking her ass with a teasing grin.

"Baby's gotta slay for her hot date! And no, I didn't look like this until twenty minutes ago, so don't misunderstand," she replied, her smile broadening.

"Oh, I see," I said, allowing my gaze to wander over her figure once more. "Are you planning to get laid or something?"

"I'm planning to snag myself VIP tickets to Night Hawk," she said, excitement radiating from her as she brushed her fingers through her hair. Night Hawk was an ultra-exclusive club known for hosting high-profile events. Getting an appointment there was notoriously difficult, let alone securing entry tickets. But for someone like Rominic, it was a mere formality.

"So you're planning to charm the tickets out of him?" I asked, intrigued.

"There's a party I need to crash," she said, her eyes sparkling with determination. "It's hosted by a high school rival of mine, and we've always been at each other's throats. She's got the financial edge over me, though. During last week's reunion, she sent out invites for her party at Night Hawk, and I got one too. But here's the kicker: my invitation only grants me access through my own connections. In other words, I can only enter the room where the party is happening."

"That's ridiculous," I replied, shaking my head in disbelief.

"But she still made it happen. Apparently, her older sister is the sugar baby of the current manager," Giovanna explained, her tone dripping with frustration. It was all part of some petty rivalry, and I couldn't wrap my head around why she would go to such lengths. I couldn't bear to see my friend chase after something so trivial when I knew I could easily help her.

My friends and I were already planning a trip to Night Hawk for fun. Gaining entry wouldn't be a problem; Phineas' doting maternal grandmother owned the club, and I had connections there. That also meant the sugar daddy in question was likely Phineas' uncle, but that's none of my business. I didn't even know the man.

"When is the party? This week?" I asked, curiosity piqued.

"Next week. Why?" she replied, her brow furrowing.
