I turned my gaze back to Tyra, and was immediately struck by the raw emotion etched across her face. Her eyes, once wide with surprise and disbelief, now glistened with unshed tears. Concern flashing across my face, I gently placed my hand on her shoulder, asking, "Tyra, are you okay?"
My touch seemed to jolt Tyra out of her trance-like state, but rather than addressing me, a dark fury suddenly clouded her expression. The intensity of her anger made me cringe internally.
Without warning, Tyra thrust her daughter into my arms, barking, "Hold her." Then, with purpose in her stride, she marched straight towards Link, rolling up her sleeves as she went.
Link's face contorted with panic, cursed under his breath and hurriedly scrambled out of his seat, putting as much distance between himself and Tyra as possible. "I can explain, let me explain!" he pleaded, his voice laced with desperation.
"Explain?! Explain?!!! What the fuck do you want to explain, you bastard!!!" Tyra's thunderous roar shook the room, her words dripping with unbridled rage.
Quickly, I turned to Serenity and thrust the child into her arms. "Take her upstairs. Kids, upstairs, now!" I commanded. The children looked at me quizzically, but I pressed on. "Zyaire has a game station and Serenity has a doll house large enough to raise five dogs. Go upstairs and trash them," I said, ignoring the sudden sparkle of excitement in their eyes.
The children scurried up the stairs, all except for Serenity, who hesitated. The child in her arms began to wail, struggling to free herself from Serenity's grasp. "Go give her to your aunt. She'll know how to soothe her," I said, cringing as the unmistakable sound of shattering glass reached my ears-my expensive vase, no doubt.
The scene unfolded before me in a whirlwind of chaos and emotion. Serenity rushed upstairs, leaving me to witness the escalating confrontation between Tyra and Link.
Tyra, her eyes burning with pure rage, was making a frantic attempt to attack Link. Without warning, she grabbed a nearby chair and hurled it at his head, all the while unleashing a torrent of furious shouts in Dutch.
I scowled in disgust as I noticed Nic and Phineas sitting nearby, calmly munching on a bowl of popcorn as they observed the spectacle with amusement. Their callous indifference only served to further infuriate me.
Determined to intervene, I quickly shed my shoes and rushed towards Tyra. With firm but careful movements, I pushed her to the floor and pinned her down, despite her violent thrashing and the anguished screams that tore from her throat. The sheer intensity of her anger was unlike anything I had witnessed before from her.
Glancing up at a breathless Link, I snarled, "Will you explain what the fuck is going on here?! Why is Tyra hellbent on murdering you, and why the fuck does she have a mini version of you?!!!"
Before Link could respond, Tyra cut him off, her voice laced with venom. "Don't you dare say a word!!! You don't need to be heard because the only things you'll say are lies!!!"
The air crackled with tension as I waited, unsure of how to proceed in the face of such raw, unadulterated emotion. "Tyra, please, you need to calm down," I pleaded, my voice laced with desperation as I struggled to restrain her thrashing form.
She let out an agonized scream, her body twisting and kicking violently beneath me. "Let me go! Let me go! I'll murder him! I'll kill him!!!"
Glancing up at the others, I cried out, "Arsehole, what did you do?!!!" The guys, their faces etched with confusion and alarm, turned to Link, who lowered his head in an admission of guilt, remaining silent.
