Kam's POV

A month later

"Come on!" Kiki whispers. She dodges around the corner of Chloroquine Labs.

"I'm coming!" I say.

Tonight was the big night. The break in we've been planning for weeks. We are gonna go home.

Kiki pushes open the double doors towering above us. I immediately pull out my hand crafted slingshot and doused the cameras in a thick black paint ball splatter. Two guards start rushing at us. Kiki jumps at them, causing a distraction.

I run up the the controller podium as Kiki deals with the now unconscious bodies. From up here I can see the room in a great stance. Sitting out the rolling chair, I notice the walls are completely white except for the red warning signs attached to the door. A huge circle device stood front and center. Two rings intertwined with one another, kinda like a globe. An alarm starts to bore as the police arrive. I click the speaker button on the panel.

"Move it along." My voice echoes from the loud speaker.

"Here."  Kiki says behind me.

I jump. "Jesus Christ! Stop doing that!"

"No." She said simply.

I roll my eyes.

"Open the door!" We hear a mans voice yell.

"Better get started."

I crack my knuckles and get to work. Button after button after button I click. The rings start spinning. Small wisps surround the outside. I flip a switch. The rings start spinning faster. A small portal pops up. I roll my chair to the other side of the panel. I start typing. A little screen above the rings lights up. Earth 301.

The rings start to shake.

"Doll! What's going on?" Kiki shouts.

"I'm losing control of the portal!" The rings spin even faster. The small portal flickers and blinks.

"It's gonna explode! Get down!" I tackle my sister to the ground as the machine catches fire. The whole room starts to shake. The metal rings crumple from the heat. Little ceiling bits rain down on us.

"Come on!" I yell.

We rush downstairs as a few ventilators hit the control room. We burst through the door, shoving past the shocked security guards and police. I pull my hood closer to my face and Kiki adjusts her scarf. I dig out a smoke bomb from my pocket to cover our escape. A group of guards run after as the whole lab starts to crumble. We spin around a corner. I grab my slingshot and chuck the smoke bomb.

"Watch out for Bats." Kiki warns. I nod.

We look around the hall for an escape route after successfully escaping our pursuers.

"Over here!" Kiki whispers. She found an open window. We jump out and run, not even looking back when the building collapses.

* * * * *

"That's the fifth lab this month!" Kiki groans. She takes off her dusty, ash covered clothes. I throw my sweatshirt off.

"I know. We're never getting home." I drag a hand down my face. I sit on the barn floor. A little walking through the sewers and we found an old abandoned barn near the city. Only a two minute walk. The smell of mildew and cows is overwhelming. The red paint was peeling and the wood was eaten through by termites. The roof was caving in, shingles litters the floor, and there was a rusty little lamp that let out few bits of light.

"Batman is gonna find us any day." Kiki says. She lays down next to me.

"Yeah, I know." I sigh. "I have one last lab to go to but your not gonna like it."

"Which?"

I take a deep breath. "Wayne labs."

"No! That would be walking right into a trap! Isn't there one in like, Metropolis we could go to?"

"Its heavily guarded and a weeks trip."

"Well what are we gonna do?"

"I have a plan." I grin.

****

The next morning we set my plan into motion. Gotham Academy was having field trip to Wayne Labs. Kiki and I are to pose as Greek transfer students, Ophelia and Xander Papadopoulos. If all goes well, we find a hiding spot and stay hidden until closing time.

I tap my stolen earpiece. "Can you hear me Ophelia?"

"Loud and clear Xander." Came Kiki's reply.

I grin. "Lets go kick some Wayne butt."

Little did I know that same day I would go to an orphanage and Kiki would be kidnapped.

I'm so sorry I haven't updated. I got sick and was way too lazy to write but I have a long, exciting chapter in the works to make up for it.
