"It was the name calling..." Kong blurted. "Just simple name calling... Then..." Kong hugged his hands to his chest to find some form of comfort. As his eyes welled again helplessly, rolling down tears.
"Then?" Arthit's voice was a mere tender whisper, as he forgot to blink again. There was just something about the soft face and the sweet aura that Arthit felt like a pull. "Why didn't you complain?"
"I know the difference between harmless affection and jeers... So the calls never bothered me... Because most of them always showed me kindness after..." Kong whispered, not able to look away from the tender gaze.
"But... The fear... When they tried to physically stop my path or came too close... The pain and restless nights... And today... The vulnerability I felt when my..." Kong dropped his gaze with shame, hugging his hands closer. "When my clothes were pulled off.... Scared me... I never felt so helpless before... And that is the reason I had to hit..."
No one spoke anything. Until Arthit repeated the same question. "Why didn't you complain?"
"Because it all started with you..." Mayur intervened this time. Arthit needs to know. It froze Kong as he stared at Mayur with wide eyes. Who all but crossed his arms.
Arthit gaped and frowned, tilting his head. "What?!"
"Can I go? Please? I don't want to file any complaints... I don't want my family to be involved. Please?" Kong bit his tongue. He should have kept quiet. He shouldn't have been here.
And Arthit was not having it, as he frowned at the omega this time. "What did he mean by it started with me?"
Kong choked on a sob. "It's nothing... Thank you for your help..."
Arthit clenched his jaws, his face hardening and his fury gave off his strong aura making Kong tremble. He hated this and he didn't want to let go... No... He won't. He hated disruption and this new arrival was causing exactly that...
"Please sign the complaint register..." He uttered, quite blankly.
Kong gaped with wide eyes, instantly shaking his head. "No... I..."
"No one will be involved... I will see to it myself... I don't know what your friend meant... But if it began with me..." Arthit narrowed his blank gaze. His eyes scared Kong. "I will be the one to end it."
There was something about Arthit's tone, his posture that Kong felt small and cornered. He felt his will bend. He gulped a lump and looked at Mayur, who nodded instantly with assurance. Then at the boy, who glared at him with hatred. Making Kong shudder... But his line of sight was soon blocked by a broad chest. Making him blink and tilt his head back to meet the eyes of the taller alpha.
"Trust me..."
Kong's glazy eyes softened, with the hard, determined hazel depths that looked back at him. Of course he trusted Arthit. He gulped a lump and took slow steps towards the desk, where he saw an open register. He looked at the other members, who gave an equally encouraging nod. And he took the pen. Feeling his back to be on fire with the silent presence that he felt just behind... Feeling those eyes prickled Kong's skin as they followed each of Kong's movements.
Kong still had a lingering fear at the back of his head, as he looked over one last time with a tilted head meeting the alpha's stare. "My family... I..."
Arthit was thrown off looking at the fear in those beautiful tender eyes. "Trust me..."
Arthit's voice was so soft and intimate that Kong unconsciously blushed, giving a faint nod. As he finally signed with his academic year and student ID, next to the complaint written with bold clean handwriting... Which Kong can recognise.
