I hummed thoughtfully. "No.. I'll keep looking."
We walked around the store, Jason trailing behind me as I looked at each set.
"Ooooh perfect." I picked up the LEGO Starry Night.
I took a look at the price tag and died a little inside, but I knew I could afford it, and besides, this was Liz! It's a big birthday for her.
Jason nodded at my choice. "Yeah that might be something she will like."
"And I'll go buy her chocolate while we're here." I added.
"A complete gift, a thing to do and a snack to eat while doing it."
I smile. "Yes exactly."
Jason grinned and asked, "Should I buy her something..?"
I shrug. "You can, I think we're all a family at this point."
Jason nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe.. I'll buy her glitter."
I groan. "No."
"I was joking." He smiled deviously. "Maybe."
I raised an eyebrow at him, holding Liz's Lego set under one arm as I fished for my wallet in my pocket.
"Hey, I might. She loves that stuff." He excused.
"Let's hope she never gets a boyfriend who breaks her heart, she'd cause chaos." I sighed, knowing Jason might actually buy her glitter. But he'd win her love and adoration so..
"Hey beautiful, Did you find everything you were looking for?" The Lego store employee asked with an award winning smile. He had chestnut brown hair and surprisingly bright green eyes.
I nod. "Yup, sure did."
"Awesome! This is one of my favorite sets." The guy said with a wink.
Jason had stiffened beside me the moment the employee spoke, but I paid the employee no attention, he was cute, but not my type.
The employee glanced at Jason and winced as he checked my item.
"Haha.. here with your boyfriend..?" He said nervously.
I mean, I can see why he asked but.. "oh, no-"
"Yes." Jason said coldly. I looked up at him to see a scowl on his face.
I rolled my eyes and let it go.
"I see.. sorry about that." the employee quickly provided the card reader and I inserted the chip of my card and waited for it to process.
"Okay! You're all good.. to go.." he chuckled nervously, offering my receipt.
Jason took the newly bagged lego set in one hand and lid his arm around my waist with the other, leading me out of the store swiftly.
"Jason he was just flirting. I wasn't going to respond." I said, trying to ease his glare.
Jason turned the glare to me, however it softened a bit showing that he wasn't mad at me.
