As Vito and his men regrouped to assess the damage, kleia couldn't ignore the growing sense of a dread in her chest. She knew the stakes were higher than ever and she could see the toll it was taking on Vito.
That evening, as they sat together in the study, kleia reached for his hand. " Vito." she said softly, " promise me you'll be careful."
He looked at her , his blue eyes filled with determination. " I will be." he said. " I promise."
