Arjun and Yash were waiting in the living room, both looking entirely too eager to know what was happening between Aditya and Zoya inside. On the other hand, Noor, who was sitting opposite them along with Pooja, was casting a doubtful glance at Arjun.
Arjun leaned back against the couch, glancing around before sighing dramatically. "Yash, I never thought I'd be standing guard outside a room for my brother. And especially "Arjun looked at Noor, "Not with someone looking at us like we're here to study the house and rob it at night."
He tilted his head toward Noor, who had been eyeing him with blatant suspicion.
Noor crossed her arms. "Well, I'm sorry, but I've never seen you before. And honestly, with that smug face, you do look like someone who might break in just to steal that night's food."
Arjun gasped in mock horror. "Excuse me? First of all, if I were ever to break in anywhere, I'd at least do something worthwhile." He glanced around pointedly. "Not saying this house has any, even any worthy people except for Pooja and Zoya."
Before he could say anything else, Noor scoffed. "Oh, please. Stop acting like someone begged you to bless this house with your holy presence. No one asked you to be here."
Arjun turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "And no one asked for your commentary, but here we are."
Noor rolled her eyes. "Wow. You're even more annoying than you look."
Arjun grinned. "And you're even louder than I expected. Is there a volume control, or do we all have to suffer?"
Noor gasped. "Excuse me? You don't even know me and this is how you judge others?"
Arjun smirked. "Exactly. And yet, I feel like I've already suffered enough for a lifetime."
Pooja and Yash exchanged a glance, realizing the argument was only beginning.
Noor huffed. "For the record, I don't want to know you either. In fact, I feel sorry for anyone who does."
Arjun tilted his head. "Funny, because I was just about to say the same about you."
Noor let out a frustrated sigh, then after a pause, crossed her arms. "Okay, but seriously... how is Yash your brother? Guess your other brother too is just like you...troubling my friend."
Arjun placed a hand over his heart in mock pain. "Ouch. That hurt." Then, he smirked. "But to answer your question—genetics. Crazy thing, huh?"
Noor shook her head. "No, but seriously. Yash is... normal. Civilized. Mature."
Arjun gasped dramatically. "You say that like it's a bad thing that I'm not."
"It is," Noor said with a deadly stare.
Pooja groaned. "Guys, can you not?"
Yash sighed. "Yeah, can we just—"
Noor ignored them. "I mean, how does it feel knowing your own brother is more likable than you?"
Arjun smirked. "I don't know, Ma'am. How does it feel knowing your best friend deserves a better one?"
Noor grabbed a cushion and chucked it at him. Arjun dodged, laughing. "Oh, that's cute. Is this how you solve all your problems? Throwing pillows around?"
"Only the ones shaped like you." Noor reached for the monkey-shaped cushion.
Before she could throw it, Pooja rushed to hold her back while Yash grabbed Arjun's arm.
"Okay, that's enough," Yash muttered, "We came here for some other reason. Not to watch this wrestle mania!"
Pooja sighed. "Seriously, are you two five? Noor...what's wrong with you?"
