"Becca, time to wake up!" Elena called through the mahogany door with a few knocks. When she heard nothing, Elena pushed the door open and found Becca laid peacefully under her covers. Elena smiled at the sight before her. She loved to see Becca like that, she was so peaceful and so innocent. Such an angel. She didn't want to wake her up, but she needed to because Becca had to go to school. Elena shook Becca's shoulder gently.

"Sweetie, it's time to wake up. You don't want to be late on your first day of school, do you?" Elena said softly.

Becca groaned and rolled over. "Five more minutes," she whined.

"Come on, Becca. If you don't get up now, you're gonna be late," Elena said sternly and pulled the covers off of Becca, but she just curled up and put a pillow over her head.

"Rebecca May Salvatore, don't make me come get your father," Elena threatened. Her voice even more stern than usual, but Becca didn't even move a single muscle.

"Okay, if this is how you want it," Elena said, walking up to the door. She peeked out her head and called for Damon, "Damon, honey! Could you come up here, please?"

"What is it, babe?" Damon asked as he stepped inside Becca's room.

"I couldn't get her up," Elena informed, gesturing to Becca, "A little help please."

"Rebecca, get up now. You have school to attend to," Damon said, approaching her.

"Gimme five more minutes, Dad," she mumbled.

"Nope. You're gonna be late," he said, already standing beside her bed.

"Up. Now," he said sternly and smacked Becca's upturned bottom hard.

"Owwww!" Becca squealed. She threw her hands back to protect her bottom. She glared at Damon and frowned.

"Can school start another day? It's early Monday morning! The sun hasn't even woken up yet. So, why should I? I'd rather go back to sleep," she talked back to Damon. She wanted to say 'It's fucking early Monday morning', but she refrained herself. She didn't want to get her mouth washed out again. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

"Did you just talk back to me?" Damon asked in his low dangerous voice. "You have two options here, Rebecca. You get up and get ready for school or you get up and get ready for school with a sore bottom. Which one is it gonna be?"

Becca let out a groan and leapt out of bed. "The first one, obviously," she mumbled and almost rolled her eyes.

"Good. Be down in ten," he said. He landed a hard solid smack on her thigh as she passed him to the bathroom.

"Ow! What was that for?" Becca complained and rubbed the spot on her thigh where he smacked at.

"You know exactly why I did that," Damon answered, looking at her pointedly before leaving the room with Elena.

Becca did her morning routine and put on a black shirt underneath a jeans jacket with a knee-length pleated skirt. She let her curly blonde hair down and put on a pair of black flat shoes. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and scurried downstairs.

"It took faster than I expected," Damon commented as Becca appeared on the doorframe of the dining room.

Becca shrugged her shoulders. "I don't get it. You're a vampire, Dad. Why couldn't you take me and speed off to school. It would take less than ten seconds to get there," she said and took a seat on the dining table.

"So you could sleep more?" Damon asked her, raising his eyebrows.

"Duh!" Becca said.

"I think you got enough sleep," Damon said, "If and only if you go to bed after I told you last night. Did you?"
