Chapter 14

Victoria

Once we finally leave the house because it's taken me like half an hour to convince my mom we shouldn't take the limo, it's kind of odd to be taking a cab to this amazing Greasy Joint restaurant.

I'm still astounded that Mom has even considered the idea of going to a restaurant like this, let alone actually carried the idea out. I'm still not sure if I'm sitting in this cab with her or an IIIIMMMPPPPOOOOSSSTTTEEERRRR! (Gasp).

I am slightly scared, surprisingly, to set foot in this restaurant. I mean, I'm not going to die. I'm not going to be crippled for life. I've just... never been to a place like this before. It's kind of a scary new experience for me, surprisingly. I know, I know. It sounds stupid. But what can I say? It's not MY fault I've never been to a place like the Greasy Joint before!

Mom is acting like a three year old at her first restaurant and it is extremely extremely very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very VERY highly embarrassing for me. So so so so so.... RIGHT! I was about to get off topic there!

Anyways, so once I've yelled at her like five times and I feel like I'm getting a headache and we've ordered (which was one of the worst moments because this happened: Mom: "Do you have creamed chicken?" Me: *facepalm* Waitress: "Ummm... No..." Me: *sob* Mom: "Oh. Then I guess I'll just have..." Me: "A burger for her, too." Waitress: "Um, okay, all right, your food will... er... be coming right up..." to say the least, it was awful awful awful awful awful awful AWFUL AWFUL!!) ANYWAYSSSSS... after all of that stuff has happened and I feel kind of stupid just sitting here. I also feel suuuuuuuper obvious just sitting in a booth at this fast food place. There's a NORMAL looking girl sitting with her mom just a couple booths away, so that just makes me feel more awkward.

Anyways, ANYWAYS, ANWAYS ANYWAYS ANYWAYS ANYWAYS I say that way too much do I not? Yes I do. Weeee eee eee ee e llllll. What happens is... "I'm going to the bathroom, Mom."

"Would you like some sanitizing spray for the toilet seat, darling?" This is one of the most embarrassing days of my LIFE. Mom pulls a small, clear bottle out of her bag and a mini packet thing of tissues.

"Um, Mom... I'm okay." I walk away as fast as I possibly can without looking eager to get away from my freaky insane completely completely insane and crazy mom.

I walk up to the waitress just as the other girl walks away from the waitress. "Where's the bathroom?" I ask. Is that what I was supposed to do? I don't know... oh well.

"Right through those doors, second door on the left." She responds, then delivers some food to the other girl's table.

I follow her directions, but, somehow, I must've miscounted or gone on the wrong side or SOMETHING, because the next thing I know, I push open a door and... a mop and a broom both fall simultaneously right near me, which is pretty scary. Then, lucky, lucky me... I've bumped a HUUUGE HUUGE HUUUUUUUUUGE HHHHHUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE cart of silverware, and it's kind of in slow motion. The whole thing falls with a clang, all of the forks and knives and spoons going in every single different direction possible, a couple of them even manage to get bounced up onto some of the shelves. I scream very loudly, and it's kind of a delayed reaction, but ya know... whatever. I stand there, gaping at the mess I've made.

The other girl busts out of a different door, which, stupid me, I notice is marked "Women's Room". Aka, THE BATHROOM. The door I DIDN'T go into. Ooops. Stupid me!

"Are you-" She gasps, rushing in, but I cut her off, thinking that, from years of experience, I know what shes going to say next.

Rolling my eyes in annoyance, I practically spit out, "Yes, I AM Victoria Brooks, my parents do own Brooks the electronics company. If you want an autograph, you can get it from my mom, who is sitting in the red booth out there. Just no pictures. That's all." I finish.

"Um... I was going to say 'Are you okay?' But... hello, Victoria Brooks, I have a radio made by your parent's company." She says awkwardly, "I'm Annabelle, by the way..."

SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME SHE WAS CHECKING TO SEE IF I WAS OKAY AND I PRACTICALLY SCREAMED AT HER NOW SHE THINKS I'M A FREAK GOOOOOD I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SOS SO SOS SOS SOS SO SO SO SO SO SOOOO STUPID!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MEEEE?!

"Oh... um... thanks." I say back, feeling probably more awkward than anyone else on the planet right now. This is noooot goooood, "I'm okay, I probably just dented a bunch of forks and knives and spoons and all that."

"Yeah..." Annabelle gets down on her hands and knees and starts picking up all of the forks and knives and spoons and it takes me a second to realize this but I am just standing there staring at her helping me. Which is pretty rude, so she probably also thinks that I am a spoiled brat now, soooo... YEAH! I get down on my hands and knees too and start picking up all the silverware along with her.

By this time, the waitress, my mom, her mom, and a couple of the like seven other customers are staring at us.

"Hello..." I say, feeling even more stupid, "Slight accident here, but, um, I'll... clean it all up, no worries..."

"You should be more careful!" The waitress snaps. Wow. No one EVER does that! Yes! I AM BEING TREATED NORMALLY!!!! THIS IS LIKE MY DREAM COME TRUUUUE! I'm so happy! Well, not really. It wasn't exactly my dream to be sitting on the floor, picking up like five hundred different things of silverware being yelled at by a nasally - sounding waitress, but you get what I mean... right? Maybe you don't. Maybe you DOOO. Hmm. Maybe I should be more clear about things like this.
