As in, not even a week away.

It was Wednesday night. The competition was that coming Friday, and all classes at the university were canceled for the event. Robbie sat slumped in his desk chair, flicking through his phone. Terrako sat on the desk, probably looking over his shoulder but it wasn't like there was anything very interesting.

A notification popped up at the top of the screen. A text from Purah. Do you think Terrako will understand that we have to put it in a box to transport it to the university on Friday?

The machine whistled in what was seemed to be an annoyed manner and Robbie chuckled. I don't think its happy about the fact but it will do it.

Will it feel better if I put you in a box too and stick you in the trunk until I need you?

Haha, very funny.

Terrako let out a long, slow whistle and Robbie glanced over at it. "What?"

It nudged Robbie's arm with its claw and whistled again, pointing at the phone then at his face. It took him a minute, but realization dawned on him. "I wasn't smiling about anything."

The following chirp sounded like it was saying yes you were. Robbie scoffed and dropped his phone on the desk. "Time for bed."

Terrako seemed to protest, but it was ultimately ignored as Robbie changed and turned the light off, dropping into bed. He saw Terrako's glowing eye watching him. "Look, I don't care if you...rest or charge or whatever it is you do when I'm sleeping, but don't stare at me while you do it."

It gave two short whistles and turned towards the wall. Robbie sighed and closed his eyes.

One more day.

Purah stood in front of her mirror, carefully applying her in makeup. In less than half-an-hour she would be meeting up with Robbie, and after a final check over on Terrako, they'd head to the university to set up. Despite demonstrations and judging not starting until 1 PM, all participants were supposed to arrive early so they could be checked for last minute errors and set up their devices.

Impa peered over at her sister from where she sat on the couch, laptop in hand. "Since when do you take so long to get ready?"

"I'm not taking that long."

"It's been fifteen minutes, Purah."

"Well, okay, maybe I am," she finished her eyeshadow, leaving the bathroom and walking to the living room. She had come to visit her sister for breakfast, and still wasn't used to a living space other than her shared dorm. "It's the big day. I'm a bit nervous and just want to look my best."

"You look fine," Impa resumed typing on her laptop. "So this Robbie guy you've been working with. He's a lot like you, huh?"

Purah nodded. "He is. He's really smart and he dresses kinda weird too, and he likes to make random guitar noises with his mouth. I don't know why. Also, he's got strange eyes, I just know it, but he's always wearing dark sunglasses so it's really hard to tell-tell-"

"Okay, slow down. So you finally found yourself another friend then?"

Purah paused and after a moment, nodded firmly. "Yeah. Yeah I did."

Impa smiled a bit, looking up from whatever she was working on. "I'm glad. You've never had many friends and the changes on mental development that has are-"

"Yeah, yeah, don't use your psychological training on me."

"Sorry. But seriously. You seem to really like this guy."
