"I'm sorry!" She exclaimed. "I should not be laughing at you, that's so inappropriate! Its just...your face. You look so done with everything!"
The makeup team scurried off to wherever they had come from and as Revali regarded Mipha for a minute, he was surprised to feel a smile on his face. Usually he would give a rather snappy response but for some reason...he was glad she found it funny.
Hylia, what is wrong with me?
Still smiling, he rolled his eyes dramatically, turning forward. The princess giggled again, causing the corners of his lips to twitch as his face threatened a full-out grin.
Then he caught sight of Muzu. The advisor was glaring at them most furiously, mouthing something about "inappropriate behaviors" while King Dorephan settled himself on the throne. Revali saw Mipha's teeth disappear behind closed lips, her expression becoming schooled to a calm, relaxed demeanor. Despite himself, Revali felt a surge of some unfamiliar emotion, wishing he could make her smile again because it was such a nice thing. That would have to wait until later, though.
He frowned. He didin't have the slightest clue what was causing this sudden shift in his behavior. He usually didn't think twice if someone was angry or happy. Why was he suddenly thinking about it now?
The cameramen were all in their places, with their news reporter positioned so the camera was just not showing the king yet. Someone announced, "And we are live in three...two...one..."
The familiar red camera light flickered on and Revali felt himself straighten just a bit more out of instinct as the reporter introduced what was going on. A camera slowly panned towards Mipha and Revali while the reporter spoke on their engagement, before having the camera turn to the king. The king stood to speak, his tall stature practically casting a shadow over the bench.
"Greetings, people of Zora's Domain and those of other kingdoms who may be watching! I am proud to announce the engagement party two days, in honor of celebrating the esteemed Prince Revali of the Rito and my daughter, Princess Mipha's engagement! I am proud to strengthen our alliance with the Rito and I hope this marriage will help our kingdoms stay united for decades to come."
To an outsider, it seemed like Revali was listening but in truth he had completely tuned the king out. He vaguely caught mentions of the party being in two days followed by the wedding in three weeks. The camera turned back to the reporter, who gave a closing and then the red camera lights turned off.
Muzu came marching over. "I hope you two know that your behavior was entirely inappropriate! You both should know that!"
In that moment, Revali decided that he did not like Muzu.
"I'm very sorry, Muzu," Mipha looked genuinely apologetic. "It won't happen again."
Muzu sighed. "Just please keep your composure, Princess Mipha. It is our duty to uphold the standing of the Domain. While I am glad you and Prince Revali are getting along, as the future queen, you must be in control of yourself."
Revali scoffed. "So Zora's Domain is all about false appearances?"
Muzu shot him a poisonous look. "You would do well to apply my warning to yourself too, Prince Revali. After all, you will be our king in three weeks time. Of course, Hylia knows if you will even show, given your track record for irresponsibility."
Mipha gasped. "Muzu!"
Revali's green eyes narrowed at the advisor, who held his gaze. "Is that a challenge?" The Rito prince stood, his expression deadly calm. "If you know so much about me, Muzu, you would know that I will rise to any challenge and I will face any adversity like a man."
