As Royalty, Not Lovers (miphvali)

Revali bit back the comment that arose in his throat while his father responded. "Not at all, King Dorephan. It is a pleasure to be in your court again. I presume everything is in place?"

"Ah, almost. But while we discuss that, why don't we let your son meet with my daughter?" King Dorephan nodded to an older man standing the side. "Muzu, could you escort him please?"

The man, Muzu, nodded. "Of course. Please follow me, Prince Revali."

With an uncertain glance at his father, Revali turned and followed as instructed. He vaguely remembered learning about the Royal Advisor Muzu, who had extra-pronounced gills on his neck right below the corners of his jaw and who looked older than the king. Hylia, he probably was.

Muzu took him through a few sets of doors and past many indoor waterfalls. As a people with features meant for an aquatic environment, water was everywhere within their structures and often used an extra source of quick transportation. Revali subconsciously glanced at his navy-blue wings, so large they dragged slightly on the floor, and he suddenly felt very out of place.

Muzu silently led him into an open-aired room with, you guessed it, more water flowing off the walls. The stone faces of the mountains could be seen through one of the massive windows, the sunlight streaming in in such a different manner than back home. Small tables scattered the room and at one sat a magenta-haired woman in a strapless silver dress.

Muzu stepped to the side to let Revali pass through the doorway and announced, "Princess Mipha, Prince Revali has arrived."

The woman looked up and Revali's mind vaguely connected how this person was the same one from eleven years ago. She had always had sweet facial features, but now that sweetness was combined with a mature beauty that came with womanhood. Despite being a year older than him, she looked far younger, and was ridiculously shorter too. Her magenta hair was pulled loosely into a bun, loose waves bouncing as she stood to greet them, with the sunlight glinting off her silver tiara.

She offered a soft smile and a curtsy as she joined them. "Prince Revali. A pleasure."

Years of education kicked in and he offered a small bow. "Princess Mipha. It has been quite some time."

"Indeed it has," she smiled slightly as he straightened again. "I wish we could have arranged a meeting prior to this development, but I'm afraid it didn't fit into anyone's schedules."

Those words sounded exactly the same as what his father had told him. "It is quite alright. Everyone is very busy, of course."

She nodded, gesturing to one of the tables. "Please, sit."

He did as asked, glancing back at Muzu who stood by the door with a rather menacing expression on his face. Revali's nose scrunched up slightly before turned his attention back to Mipha. "So..."

Long silence. She glanced over at Muzu, who was currently looking out the window, and she suddenly leaned over and whispered. "I don't know about you, but I feel...incredibly awkward."

Revali suddenly felt himself relax and with a slight chuckle, he whispered, "Me too."

She flashed a brilliant smile and he vaguely wondered what had happened to her over the years since they had met last. "Well then...how have you been?"

"You're leaving already? Its only been two days!"

King Illios stood by the car, watching the servants load up baggage. "I have important matters to attend to at home. I assure you, I'll be back in three weeks for the wedding."
