"Why us?" Emma questioned, "We just arrived here, and John and Blanche just broke several of your laws. Why let us in on such an important mission?"

"Olive trusts you." The ymbryne said, "And I trust her judgement."

"Plus, there's also a prophecy about a child of Miss Peregrine's being crucial to the future of Peculiardom in the darkest times." Sophie said, "It's famous among people. If the last two surviving wards of Miss Peregrine's help us find the power that has the potential to defeat Caul, the news can sway many people to our side."

Emma thought for a moment. "Propaganda and ancient souls. You really think that will work?" she asked, not really expecting any kind of answer.

"Fighting Caul in his own method?" Miss Bittern said, "Yes, I believe it will work."

Emma nodded.

She remembered the memorials that had her own name carved on it, hers and everyone she had lost. Abe, Miss P, Jacob, Milliard, Bronwyn, Enoch, Hugh, Fiona, Noor, Horace, Claire, Addison.

She remembered the countless nights she sat on Abe's porch, reminiscing the good times that will never come back. Hoping all of it could just be over.

But she understood now, the ending won't come until she reach it herself.

For all the times she chose to run and hide, Caul had taken everything from her.

She's done hiding. It's time to take the fight back to him.

"I will help you." Emma promised.

Someone pulled Albiar out of the rubble.

He heard gunshots and shouting.

They failed to destroy the hospital. Now the enemy troops were swarming in.

"Are you alright sir?" a soldier asked him. "Can you walk?"

"I'm fine. What's the situation right now?" he asked as he followed the soldier to the makeshift command center inside a half-tumbled house.

"They sent in some normal troops and two tanks. The tanks are both destroyed." The soldier replied.

"What about the normal forces?" Albiar asked.

"They stayed around the hospital." An officer answered. "They are protecting the loop entrance."

"They haven't sent more people?" Albiar questioned.

"No."

"They are preparing something." The general said.

"Something changed in the entrance." A scout on the roof said.

Albiar and the officers gathered to the window to see what happened.

Explosions came first, coupled with occasional gunshots. What used to be the hospital's gate was now an entrance to a deep, dark cave.

Then the green glow grew brighter.

"They have ymbrynes inside," Albiar said, "We need to take the entrance now!"

"We have been trying to do exactly that for entire hour now," an officer replied, "even if our forces can make it to the building the remaining soldiers won't be able to take the entrance."

Before they could argue further, five trucks sped out from the destroyed gates and stopped in the middle of the street.

The forces of the loop launched grenades and rockets at the vehicles, but the green glow deflected them seconds before they could hit the trucks. Then the doors at their back opened.
