Fort Atropos stood just ten miles away from the closest human residence.

At the outskirt of the nearest town, one of the empty houses was occupied. It had a window facing the direction of the fortress, and behind the window was a telescope, fixed on the fort's gate.

"It's been seven days; they just keep shipping stuff in and out. And more are more soldiers are sent to guard whatever they are shipping." A voice came from the seemingly empty suite of cloth Edmund was wearing.

"If only our spy told us what they are doing." Emma mumbled.

"It doesn't matter anyway." Olive said, "As long as they still have hollowgasts inside, we can attack."

"But what if it's a trap?" Khione commented just as Emma felt a wave of coldness following her presence, "What if they know we are coming and started to ship people out to bait us?"

"Maybe," Olive considered the possibility, "But we still need that hollow."

"They could have just come here if they know we are here." Emma pointed out.

"They know or not, I don't think keep watching would do us any good," Ethan said.

"No, I have seen enough. Everyone go get ready, we attack tonight." Olive commended.

"The source told us there will be a supply team arriving at eleven thirty tonight. Two units of four soldiers will be guarding it." Olive said, "They usually have around fifty soldiers in the fortress, but recently they keep sending them out to protect shipments. That means they will have less people to defense that place when we attack."

"Did the source mention what they are transporting?" Khione asked.

"They said it's mainly food." Olive replied.

"Maybe they send extra soldiers due to the recent normal extremist attacks?" Edmund guessed.

"It's likely. Which is why we will disguise as those 'extremists' and intercept the transport before it comes back," Olive said.

"Then go straight through the gate of hell." Ethan commented, "With the passport of the devils."

"Yes. We go in, dust the monsters, and drag one out. Then we go home." Olive said.

"Pretty simple." Caroline said.

"And the rest just follow the plans we made back in the loop. Any problem?"

No one said anything.

"Good," Olive finished, "Dismissed, go get some rest."

The first van in the convoy saw the explosion and it sent a signal for the team to stop. The soldiers on the car asked for help through the radio, but the only thing that answered them was the hissing interference.

Then they all felt it, an almost tangible coldness creeping on them.

the driver, the only peculiar soldier in this car, cursed at the normals and stomped the gas. The engine roared feebly and then died.

They were in the middle of a desert, less than ten meters away from the still-burning fire caused by the explosion ahead, and it was now too cold to start the engine.

Then he heard three popping sound.

Knowing that normal extremists that stalked this area usually wouldn't keep fight after they hear a gunshot, he pulled out his gun, rolled down the window and fired.

The moment his head was exposed, Emma took the shot, just like she did with the other three people a few seconds ago.

Then a soldier next to the driver reached forward, attempting to shut the window. Emma killed him as well.
