Author’s POV:

The days following that almost-confession were tense, electrified by the lingering spark between Y/N and Ji Chang-Wook. The world moved on, but they didn’t. Their dynamic remained charged, like a magnet pulling them closer and closer, though neither seemed ready to give in completely.

On set, their chemistry burned through every scene they filmed, leaving even the crew speechless. Off set, it was a different story—glances stolen, touches avoided, and an unspoken awareness that hung in the air.

Tonight, however, fate had other plans.

---

Y/N’s POV:

The drama was officially a hit. Social media had been buzzing with the unexpected chemistry between Tae-Jun and Hye-Jin. Fans were already shipping us, coming up with hashtags and edits. It was surreal seeing myself paired up with Ji Chang-Wook in fan accounts, my name trending alongside his.

I scrolled through a post during a break, stifling a smile as I read a comment:

"Who is this mystery actress? Their tension is INSANE!"

"Still stalking fan reactions?" Se-Jeong’s teasing voice broke through my thoughts.

I jumped, clutching my phone. “I wasn’t stalking!”

She smirked, dropping onto the couch beside me. “Right. You’re just ‘casually’ reading comments about you and Chang-Wook oppa.”

I groaned, burying my face in my hands. “Don’t start.”

Oh, I’m just getting started,” she said with a laugh. “Speaking of Chang-Wook, where is he?

I glanced around but didn’t see him. “Probably in his trailer.”

Se-Jeong gave me a sly look. “You should go check. You know, for professional reasons.

I glared at her, but my heart raced at the thought.

---

Ji Chang-Wook’s POV:

I leaned back in my chair, sipping my coffee as I watched the playback of our last scene. It was good—better than good. She was a natural, and every moment we shared on screen felt real.

Maybe too real.

A knock at my door pulled me from my thoughts. I set my coffee down and called out, “Come in.”

The door creaked open, and there she was, looking hesitant but stunning as always.

Hey,” she said softly. “I just wanted to check if you were… okay.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Why wouldn’t I be?

She shrugged, stepping inside. “I don’t know. You’ve been… different lately.”

I smirked, standing up. “Different how?

She hesitated, her eyes darting around the room before meeting mine. “I don’t know. Just… different.”

I took a step closer, watching her closely. “Maybe you’re the one who’s different.”

Her lips parted slightly, and for a moment, neither of us said anything. The air between us grew heavy, and I could see the conflict in her eyes.

I should go,” she said abruptly, turning toward the door.

But before she could leave, I grabbed her wrist, stopping her.

Y/N,” I said, my voice low.

She turned back to me, her eyes wide and uncertain.

What are you so afraid of?” I asked, stepping closer.

---

Y/N’s POV:

His question hit me like a punch to the gut. What was I afraid of?

Everything.

I was afraid of ruining what we had, afraid of misreading the signs, afraid of falling for someone who could have anyone he wanted.

I don’t know,” I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He let go of my wrist but didn’t step back. Instead, he reached out and gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, his touch sending shivers down my spine.

Then stop overthinking,” he said softly.

His words hung in the air, tempting me, daring me to take the leap. But before I could say anything, the door burst open, and Se-Jeong and Eun Bin barged in, laughing hysterically.

Oops, are we interrupting something?” Eun Bin teased, her eyes darting between us.

I stepped back, my face burning. “No! Nothing at all.”

Chang-Wook just smirked, his eyes never leaving mine. “You’ve got terrible timing.”

---

Se-Jeong’s POV:

Oh, they were so obvious, it was painful. The tension between them was practically suffocating, and yet they kept pretending nothing was happening.

Relax, oppa,” I said, plopping down on the couch. “We’re here to celebrate. Did you see the latest ratings?

Eun Bin chimed in, “Through the roof! Fans are losing their minds over you two.

Chang-Wook looked amused, but his eyes flicked to Y/N, who was busy fidgeting with her phone.

See?” I said, nudging Y/N. “You’re officially a star.

She rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her smile. “I’m just trying not to mess up.

Chang-Wook’s voice cut through the room, calm but firm. “You won’t.”

---

Author’s POV:

The night ended with laughter, teasing, and a few stolen glances that didn’t go unnoticed. But as everyone went their separate ways, the unresolved tension between Y/N and Chang-Wook remained, a silent promise of what was yet to come.

Neither of them realized it yet, but gravity was working against them. And sooner or later, they would have to give in.
