Author's POV:
The air was thick with anticipation as Y/N prepared herself for the conversation that would undoubtedly change everything she thought she knew about her role in the drama-and in her father's life. Ji Chang-Wook, Eun Bin, Se-Jeong, and In-Yeop, ever the supportive friends, decided to wait for her outside the café where she planned to meet her father.
Meanwhile, Aarav was at home, staring at his phone, scrolling through the endless buzz surrounding Y/N's debut. His usual enthusiasm had been replaced by a quiet curiosity. He, too, had questions-about their father's involvement and why Y/N hadn't known anything until now.
---
Y/N's POV:
The café was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the storm brewing inside me. My father sat across from me, calm as ever, sipping his coffee like this was a casual family chat.
"Okay, Dad," I began, folding my arms. "Spill. What exactly did you do to get me cast in this drama?"
He set his cup down, his expression unreadable. "It wasn't about getting you cast, Y/N. It was about giving you a chance."
"A chance?" I repeated, my voice rising slightly. "Dad, I didn't even want this! You threw me into the spotlight without asking!"
He sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Do you know how many people I've met in my line of work who regret never chasing their dreams? You've always had a spark, Y/N, but you've been too scared to explore it. When this opportunity came up, I... nudged things along."
---
Mr. Y/L/N's POV:
I expected her anger, but not the hurt in her eyes.
"I didn't do this to control you," I said softly. "I did it to show you what you're capable of. And look at you now. The world loves you."
She shook her head, tears threatening to spill. "You should've told me, Dad. I feel like a puppet. Like... I don't deserve this."
"Nonsense," I said firmly. "You worked for it. No one can fake the chemistry you have with your co-star, or the way you've captured the audience's hearts. That's all you, Y/N."
---
Ji Chang-Wook's POV:
We watched from the car parked outside, peering through the café's glass windows like a group of nosy teenagers.
"She's crying," Eun Bin whispered, her face pressed against the window.
"Should we go in?" In-Yeop asked, frowning.
"No," I said quickly, my gaze fixed on Y/N. "She needs to handle this herself. Besides, I'm pretty sure her dad wouldn't appreciate all of us barging in."
Se-Jeong smirked. "Look at you, Mr. Protective. Didn't know you had a soft side."
"Shut up," I muttered, but my lips twitched into a smile.
---
Aarav's POV:
Back home, I sat on the couch with my laptop open, replaying clips from the drama's first episode. I'd seen it a dozen times already, but it still felt surreal.
"Y/N, the accidental actress," I muttered, scrolling through the comments section. Most were overwhelmingly positive, praising her performance and chemistry with Ji Chang-Wook. But a few caught my eye.
"She's good, but how did she get cast with zero experience?"
"Definitely some nepotism involved here."
My jaw clenched. "Idiots."
I picked up my phone and texted Y/N.
"Talk to Dad. But don't let anyone make you feel like you don't deserve this. You're amazing, okay?"
---
Y/N's POV:
My father's words echoed in my mind as I left the café. He'd made his case, and while I wasn't entirely ready to forgive him, I couldn't deny that he'd acted out of love.
The moment I stepped outside, Ji Chang-Wook was the first to speak. "You okay?"
I nodded, my throat tight. "Yeah. I just... need some time to process."
Eun Bin immediately wrapped me in a bear hug, nearly knocking me over. "You're a star, Y/N! No matter how it happened, you earned this."
"Thanks, Bin," I said, laughing despite myself.
"Let's go celebrate," Se-Jeong declared, linking her arm with mine. "Drama's a hit, and you survived a talk with your dad. That calls for cake!"
---
Author's POV:
As the group walked down the bustling street, Y/N found herself smiling again. The road ahead was uncertain, but she wasn't alone. She had her friends, her family, and a growing fanbase cheering her on.
But as the buzz around the drama continued to grow, so did the curiosity surrounding Y/N's sudden rise to fame. The world was watching, and not everyone was rooting for her.
The question remained: Could she navigate this newfound spotlight while staying true to herself?
