Chapter 11: Family Beats Failure!

In the last few episodes, the efforts and determination of our heroes has been out through the test. Heroes rose to the top of their performance, allies were hurt, and those they loved were waiting for them on the other side. How will this battle end? Find out now, as the Journey Continues!

We begin right where the last chapter left off; with Spectrier and Absol charging at each other for battle. The beginning of the end begins

Spectrier charges in with High Horsepower, but Absol narrowly dodges it

"Keep a distance, with psycho cut!", Lillie commands

Absol jumps away from Spectrier and starts throwing psycho cuts at it. Spectrier dodges all of these and uses Astral Barrage. Absol narrowly avoids this attack with Detect, but is then met with a point blank Hyper Beam, heavily damaging it

"Oh no...", Lillie thinks to herself

Absol struggles to get back up, but looks at Lillie's worried look on her face. This lights fire in Absol, who know refuses to go down so easily. It gets back up and roars back at the legendary horse Pokémon

However, Lillie is still worried and statued by these circumstances, unsure of if or how she can win this battle

She then feels Snowy rubbing her leg, while the others tell her to snap out of it and believe in herself. Even 'Lillie' the Ultra Beast is cheering her on

"Remember when Peony and Peonia helped us get this far?", Ash said, "We owe it to them to finish this fight and come back out with Spectrier in our hands! You can't give up now!"

"And we're not giving up on you either!", Goh shouts

"We know you can do this, sister!", Gladion says

"You've never given up before, why start now?", Ash says, "Show Spectrier who you are!"

Lillie hears all of this, and she thinks about her father, and Calyrex, and her mother, and all of her friends back at home cheering her on

"Your... you're right!", Lillie exclaims, with a rising confidence in her voice, "If I can get through my fear of touching Pokémon, if I can do well in the Alola Pokémon league, if I can get Magearna to work again and find father after all of this time... then I can win this battle and get father back too!"

Lillie looks at her mega keystone, and then back at Absol. Absol gives her a nod of approval, letting her know that now is indeed the time

Lillie presses her mega keystone, activating a great glow that burns bright in the cave they're in

"Absol, with our combined power, as Pokémon and trainer...", Lillie says, with a rising conviction in her voice, "let us show everyone how strong we have become, finish this battle, and get father back! Absol, mega evolve!"

Absol glows in a great multi-colored light. It's hair grows more wild, it's horn grows and thickens, and it even grows wings. By the end of this glow, Absol emerges from the light, and lets out a great aura with its roar, as a rainbow colored Mega Evolution symbol floats above it. Absol has mega evolved!

""She did it", Gladion exclaims with pride, "she mega evolved her Absol!"

"Way to go, Lillie!", Ash says, with a present excitement and pride in his voice

"Now do us a favor and finish this battle!", Goh says, in matching excitement with Ash, but also a hint of anxiousness

Lillie is at awe for a moment, but then looks back and nods at the group and nods

"Absol, be ready!", Lillie says, as both her and her Pokémon ready themselves for whatever is next

Spectrier fires another Hyper Beam. Absol dodges this and charges in with a Night Slash. This connects, doing visible damage and putting Spectrier to its knees
