The guards reached for their gun.
"We have three other guns pointed at you from the backseat. Throw away your gun." Olive demanded.
If the soldiers had any doubt about Olive's threat, seeing Emma pulling out her weapon cleared it. They both untied their holster belt and threw them away.
"Now open the gate."
He nodded and shouted at the booth next to the gate. "Let them pass!"
But the gate did not open.
The guards looked at the booth nervously. "Open the gate!" one of them shouted again.
Sitting next to Olive, Emma noticed someone standing up inside the booth.
She reached at her rifle. "Cover your ears," she whispered.
Then she pulled out her gun and launched a grenade into the booth's open window.
The explosion knocked the guards down, and one of them made a run for his gun.
Olive shot his head and pointed her gun at the remaining guard.
"Please don't kill me." He begged. "I have family."
Hollowgasts howled. They were approaching.
"Go open the gate for us." Olive demanded. The guard nodded and climbed into the booth.
A few seconds later, the gate opened.
Olive fired into the booth, and the guard ducked for cover. Then she stomped the accelerator and busted out of the gate.

No one chased them.
They arrived at their hiding place in the last few days unchallenged. The sun was just rising, the sky still dim.
They moved the hollowgast onto another van and Olive drove their stolen vehicle into the local dumping ground and lit it on fire.
After covering their trails, they headed back to the loop.
"Well, it's easier than I thought." Ethan said.
"It's probably the easiest job we have done in years." Caroline agreed.
"I thought hollows will be more challenging." Ethan said, almost disappointed.
"You try dragging them back awake next time." Emma said. "Without sleep dust, you won't even get a chance to knock it out."
"Good thing you let them out, then. They will have a really bad time dealing with all their hollows running amok." Edmund said.
They arrived at the ruins of Swamp Town shortly before noon.
"The hollow is waking up." Khione warned. "I need to give it another tranquilizer."
Caroline handed her a vial and took a look at the creature.
Its eyes was open, black tears leaking out of them.
"It's still not fully awake." Khione assured her as she injected the tranquilizer into its veins.
"One shot should have been enough." Caroline said. "The dosage is enough to put down a bear for twelve hours."
"Perhaps its body is fighting the drug." Khione suggested. "We don't know much about hollowgast metabolism after all."

They headed straight to the Talon Base.
After they were done parking, Ethan and Edmund carried the hollow into the Genesis Lab and Olive was summoned to an emergency meeting.
