Chapter 8: the Magistrate of Order, Overlorder

At the top floor

Pearl: "let's end this freak, Eight!"

Marina: "it's now or never!"

Eight equips her dualies, ready to fight Overlorder. 2 portals spawn, similar to the ones when Eight was saving Marina.

Pearl: "yo, 'Rina! Aren't those the same portals from when we were saving you?"

Eight breaks the portals, with the barrier breaking. Eight splats Overlorder, but he quickly respawns with a new barrier, and new portals. When Eight shoots the portal, she is shocked.

Eight: "ugh can these stupid things MOVE now?!"

Pearl: "yo, since when can these move?! Doesn't matter, you can handle it right Eight?"

Eight: "yea, sure sure."

Eight breaks the portals, and the barrier breaks again. Eight splats Overlorder and he respawns again with a new barrier and even more portals, that move even faster. But Eight still destroys them quite easy and splats Overlorder for the third time.

Pearl: "it's over, Order!"

Overlorder: "it doesn't matter. The grayscaling is already in motion."

Overlorder then let's out a loud scream, and Splatsville and Inkopolis plaza turning blank.

Marina: "after everything we've done, we're still to late? No, I don't want to live in blank world!

Marina starts typing really on her laptop, trying to shut Overlorder's program down.

Marina: "it's propagating to fast!.... Pearlie.... I...."

Acht comes running to help Marina and jumps as one final attempt to press the enter key.

Everything went blank. We're they to late?

Suddenly, Eight hears some kind pounding and starts vibing on it and some kind of beat circles appear. Eventually, the beats give the world colour again, and Eight sees Pearl in her human form.

Pearl: "I feel your vibe, Eight! And your backing track slaps, Marina! Hit it, DJ'S"

Marina types on her laptop, and out of golden triangles some turntables appeared. Acht's arm was healed, and Marina smiles at Acht. The duo then walks up to the turntables. They test it out a bit and then make a nice beat. Meanwhile Four starts waking up.

Four: "where am I? Huh, is that Jade? But what is that giant octopus?"

Marina: "Eight, Four woke up!"

Eight looks and sees Four watching with the 'what the hell is going on' look. Eight smiles, and Four relaxes a bit.

Overlorder: "for what use is this persistence? Happiness is stasis. Unchanging, forever."

Pearl: "your kidding! We're out there LIVING, loser! Keep your boring gigs for boring people! Right gang? Crank it up!"

Four: "wait a minute... It's off the hook OH MY GOD!"

Marina: "mic check!"

Marina sets the mic sound to the max for Pearl. Pearl then does her thing.

Pearl:"Boo-YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH"

The ceiling breaks open, and a small part of the sky turns blue. The room get's more colourful with the light.

Acht: "Eight, it looks like your pallet is empty."

Pearl: "well, guess we're doing this oldschool, Eight!"

Marina: "looks like there are colour chips in the portals, Eight!"

Eight moves to the first portal and starts shooting it. It confirms Marina's suspiciouns.

Marina: "I knew it! The colour chips are locked inside the portals!"

Eight breaks the portal and get's mobility tone chips.

Pearl: "looks like the chips are more powerful than usual, Eight. Collect all the chips and let's defeat that loser with the power of the colours of the spectrum!"

Eight moves to the next portal and when she destroyed it, she got range tone chips.

Marina: "hey, Four. You're feeling alright?"

Four: "uh, yeah I'm fine. I just want to know what happened."

Marina: "I understand that, and I'm sure Eight will explain it. But she first has to defeat Order. You know, the guy who brainwashed you?"

Four: "that's him?! You can do this Eight!"

Meanwhile Eight breaks the third portal, containing the lucky tone chips.

Marina: "looks like you hit the jackpot, Eight!"

Eight makes her way to the fourth portal.

Pearl: "oh sweet, we snagged the drone chips. This is what I was waiting for!"

Eight breaks the final two portals, which she obtains the range-tone and support-tone chips. Eight obtains full spectrum, and the barrier around Overlorder breaks. Eight activates the spectrum, and Pearl once again uses her voice. It stuns Overlorder, and Eight shoots him. Eventually, he explodes. Marina, Acht and Four quickly run to Eight and Four, finally reuniting them. They both start crying from happiness, especially Eight.

Four: "what happened, Eight?"

Eight: "I missed you so much, Four! I'll tell everything once we're home!"

Pearl: "did we win?"

Suddenly, they see a small octopus.

Marina: "omg it's so cute!"

Smollusk: "you wuined everything! I was so cwose to my perfect world of order!"

Marina: "it's like Order, but harmless. I think our job here is done."

Pearl: "sweet, case closed then. Yo, babypus! You were down with our music, right? If you behave, I can catch you a VIP seat on one of our shows."

Marina: "awww, Pearl!"
Smollusk: "awwww, Peawl!"

Pearl: "awright, time for us to bounce. Time to go back to the real Inkopolis square!"

Suddenly, a elevator to the sky appears. It opens up and Pearl walks toward it. Marina laughs and walks to it together with Acht. Eight questioned it for a few seconds, but quickly follows. Four follows Eight.

In the elevator

Four: "so Eight, what exactly happened."

Eight tells everything, from waking up in the order sector to the final battle with order. She even told about her dream.

Four: "Sheesh, you've been through a lot, Eight. And I was brainwashed all that time? God, I'm so sorry, Eight!"

Eight: "there was nothing you could do, Four. I'm so, so happy you're back!"

Four: "yea, me to."

When they are back in Inkopolis square, the squad parts way, with off the hook and Acht going to their studio, and Eight and Four going to their appartement. When their in the appartment, Jade puts her Shiver merch on her merch shelf, and Isabelle messages the other agents about what happened. They agree to meet at a café in Inkopolis square to tell what happened.

And that was the last chapter. Only one chapter today since this was meant to be 2 chapters, but the first part was way to short so I just combined the 2 chapters. Tomorrow I will post the epilogue and then this book is done. So see y'all next time ✌️.
