prologue: the beginning of besties

After the fight against commander Tartar

Agent 3: "thanks for saving me, 8. Without you, not only me, but the whole world would be doomed."

Agent 8: "no problem, agent 3. I just did it because I wanted to come to the surface, and I had to defeat him if I wanted to see it's beauty."

Agent 3: "but I want to talk to you about something. You know Cuttlefish is the captain of the Squidbeak splatoon, right?"

Agent 8: "ofcourse I know that 3, but why do you bring that up?"

Agent 3: "well, he is quitting since he is old. And now, I will become the captain. So, my question is, do you want to become the new agent 3 of the Squidbeak splatoon?

Agent 8: "ofcourse I want to be agent 3! But why me and not someone else? I am an octoling after all."

Agent 3: "well I have 3 reasons for that. 1, Cuttlefish wanted that. 2, you've beaten me so that proves your a good fighter. And 3, we don't want to make the current agent 4 agent 3, because that would be confusing since you would than become agent 4. We didn't want 2 people reacting to the name 4."

Agent 8: "Okay, that's fine. But can I meet that agent 4 of yours? She sounds nice."

Agent 3: "ofcourse you can."

After agent 3 sended an text message to agent 4 about the news, they agreed to meet at Crusty Seans foodtruck to take a bite and meet eachother.

At inkopolis square, after they ordered food

Agent 4: "hey, I'm agent 4. You must be the new agent 3 then?"

Agent 3/8: "yes, I am. Nice to meet you."

Agent 4: "nice to meet you to! But hey, when we're not on a mission you can call me Isabelle. That's my real name, what's yours?

Agent 3/8: "my name is Jade."

Isabelle: "That's a wonderful name! But why are you so shy?"

Jade: "I have social anxiety, and I also have issues with trusting people, after everything that happened in the octarian army."

Isabelle: "that sounds awful. Hey, you play any video games maybe?"

Jade: "well I love playing the Legend of Zelda."

Isabelle: "I love Zelda to!"

They started talking about Zelda the whole time, eventually agent 3 left because he wasn't a Zelda fan. They started to know eachother better and better, and even like eachother.

30 minutes later

Jade: "so, do you want to be friends? I don't really have any since I just escaped the underground."

Isabelle: "well ofcourse I want to be friends. I don't have any friends really. If you want, you can move in with me, though I don't know if my parents are so happy with that. But I can buy my own house. I'm rich and 14."

Jade: "aren't you to young to buy a house if your 14?"

Isabelle: "maybe in your octarian world, but around here it's normal."

Jade: "okay, if you say so."

Isabelle's parents ended up not accepting to let Jade live with them, since Isabelle had many younger siblings. Isabelle and her parents then agreed that her parents will pay for an apartment for her and Jade. That's how they became the bestest of friends 2 years ago.
