Enchanted

Chapter 13

"It's okay you can tell me anything. I promise I won't tell." he said reassuring me by place his hand on my knee and giving it a squeeze

"I've done a lot of things that I'm not proud of and I don't want to go back to that. Everybody at Tree Hill knows about Chris. Sometimes I feel like there is no starting over. No matter where I go, whatever I do, my past seems to follow me." I explained watching as the cars whizzed by on the highway

"Well maybe you just need the right guy to help you start over. I mean when Becca left she broke my heart. I felt like my heart was always going to be with her and when I flew to Texas to see her and she was already with another guy it broke my heart even more and all the walls that I had ever built came right back up. But you know now that you are in my life those walls are slowly coming back down again. And I'm scared because I don't want to get hurt." he admitted to me. I smield up at him and kissed his cheek

"You don't have to be scared with me Hunter. I would never do anything to hurt you on purpose." I said lacing our fingers together

We have been driving for four hours now. I was getting a little ancy so I started to turn the radio up and sing. The song was She Will be Loved by Maroon 5.

"Oh my God, you can sing too?" Hunter asked me smiling

"Yes I can sing. I don't like a lot of people knowing that okay?" I asked as he began to sing along with me.

"No stop please you are so bad." I said laughing trying to cover his mouth

We both just belted out the rest of the song together and even though he is terrible we made a pretty good team.

"So if you can sing why aren't you pursuing that as a career option? You are really good." he said smiling

"Well if I tell you something you have to promise not to make fun of me." I said giving him a look. He gave me one that read go on.

"When I was younger my grandmother and mom made me do singing competitions and pagents. I was that little girl who would sing and dance onstage in a sparkly, frilly dress. I won about seven pagents and three competitions. I gave up because I fell in love with Cheerleading and this other girl came into the picture. Her name is Molly Elder and she was the first girl to ever beat me." I explained to him and than Hunter started uncontrolably laughing at me.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh but that makes perfect sense now. Are your videos on youtube I have to see this!" he exclaimed wiping tears from his eyes

"You suck a lot I hope you know that." I said sticking my tounge out at him

'Alright fine when I was younger I used to be really into gymnastics." he told me with a straight face

"Really?" I asked shocked

"No I just wanted to try and make you feel better but I can't say that with a straight face." he said laughing all over again

We still have an hour left to drive but we all pulled over because we are so hungry and really had to pee.

"So How is it riding with Mr. Dreamy." Avery asked nudging me

"Pretty good so far. We have just been talking and laughing and really getting to know each other. I really like him Avery." I said sighing 

"Correction you love him. It is all written across your face like a lovesick puppy or something." she said laughing making me laugh too

"How has Austin been? He hasn't really been himself around me lately. I am wondering if I did anything wrong." I said worried

"Don't worry you didn't. He has been on his man period for a while now. Don't worry you will find out sooner than later." she said patting me on the back making me even more confused

We all ate real quickly because we just want to finish out the ride. It has been a long day for everybody. As we got closer to the town all the towns we passed through were all lit up with Christmas lights and looked so pretty.

"I love Christmas time. Everybody is so happy and is filled with love and hope." I said smiling out the window

"You really are such a girl." he said shaking his head at me

"Thank you for stating my gender like I didn't already know what it was." I said sassily

"You know to be honest I thought this car ride was going to be very annoying with you but I actually had a lot of fun. I haven't laughed like this in a long time. So thank you for that." he said just as we were entering the town

"Thank you for letting me in." I said smiling up at him

We pulled into the Mansion where my Dad rented out for everybody to stay at. Suddenly the butterflies in my stomach began all over again because I am so nervous. I felt Hunter's hand grab my arm before I had a chance to get out of the car.

"Chase I have to tell you something that I have wanted to tell you for a while now." Hunter said looking me right in the eyes. They were filled with so much passion.

"Okay what is it? Is everything alright?" I asked concerned

"Yeah of course. Damn it sorry I am just so nervous." he said trying to hide his shaking hands

We sat there in silence for a few seconds before he finally spoke again,

"Chase I am in love with you."
