Hunter's POV

I walked into the cafeteria at school for lunch. I notice all the girls who are batting their eyelashes at me and puffing out their chests a little more. The truth is I don't date girls at school because they are a bunch of fake whores. I know that seems harsh but it is the truth. But one girl this year changed my perspective on that whole situation, Chase.

Speaking of her I spotted her sitting at her normal table with her friends. I gave her a smile and my signature head nod that typically has the girls falling to the ground. But instead of even giving me a small smile back she just turns her attention away from me and looks down at her food.

"Okay can somebody please tell me what I did wrong?" I asked throwing my books and lunch down on the table

"Well that list could go on and on you know." Drew said smirking at me

"This isn't a time for jokes. Chase hasn't said one word to me since we got back from Thanksgiving break. Nor does she even look at me. Do you guys know what is going on?" I asked confused

"Dude you are really smart but I cannot believe how dumb you are about Chase." Matt said shaking his head

"The problem is Becca. Ever since she came back into the picture you have been ditching us to go hangout with her. The problem with Chase is on Thanksgiving you were going to tell her you are in love with her. And we are almost one hundred percent positive she was going to say it back. But you blew it with Becca. She is hurting and you have been too busy far up your asshole lately to notice." Marco said to me sternly. We all sat their in silence for a few moments because well number one what Marco said was true and number two Marco never talks to any of us especially me that way because he knows we will all kick his ass.

"My thing is you love Chase man. It is written all over your face. Don't let Becca come in between that. Because if you let her you are going to loose Chase for good and that is going to suck." Jake said getting up to throw his trash away

"And remember Becca was the one that left you and moved on right away. You may be able to forgive her for that but can you really forget about it?" Drew asked not really looking for an answer but for wanting me to think about it

Shit what am I going to do

Chase's POV

I just got done cheering for the boys' basketball team after school today. We did a routine at halftime that we had to submit in order to even be considered for nationals. We did well during the routine but I have not been my usual cheery self lately. All this drama with Hunter has really been getting to my head. I don't know what to think anymore.

I parked my car in the driveway and walked inside. I walked upstairs to see my mom stressfully taking clothes out of her closet and putting them into a suitcase.

"Mom you do know we leave for Dad's wedding in almost two weeks right? You still have time to pack." I said chuckling a bit

"I know but I am starting to freak out. Ever since I found out about this Katherine woman I never looked her up because I thought if I didn't know what she looks like than that would make it easier to pretend like she didn't exist. Well today I looked her up and she is beyond gorgeous." my mom explained to me sitting down on the edge of her bed. I sat down next to her and joined her.

"Mom what are you trying to say? You are the most beautiful woman I know inside and out. You are not only my mom but my best friend. If you are worried I am going to like Katherine better than you than you are wrong. Nobody can ever replace you." I said bringing her in for a hug

"It's not just that. If your Dad can get a woman why shouldn't I be able to get a man? I mean I am not that old." she said making me smile

"Well here's my advice : have a little faith, and if that doesn't work, a lot of mimosas." I said laughing making her laugh too
