Chase's POV

I groaned as I kept smacking my alarm clock to shut up. It was 7:15 AM and the school year officially started today. I quickly got out of bed and took a quick shower. I blow dried my hair and threw on my uniform. I curled my hair so it would be in loose curls and I applied foundation, eyeshadow, and mascara. I walked downstairs to grab an apple as my breakfast.

"Morning Mama." I greeted her with a kiss on the cheek

"Hey baby. You have tryouts after school today right?" she asked sipping her coffee

"Yupp from 3-4:30. So I probaly wont be home closer to 5 with traffic. I got to run or else I am going to be late. Love you1" I called after her as I walked out to my car. I drive a chrysler 300 and my mom drives a black escalade.

I arrived to school within ten minutes. I parked my car and was greeted by Chelsea.

"Ready for the next eight months of learning about meaningless shit?" she asked making me laugh

"Bring it on." I said linking arms with her as we walked into school. Everybody was staring at us as we walked in. Since we go away for the summer and basically drop off the face of the Earth everybody is in shock of how tan and refreshed we all look.

"Somebody should really tell them to take a picture it lasts longer." Chels said annoyed

"They are only staring because you guys look hot today." Austin said all flirty

"Ew please stop. I am not trying to vomit on my first day." I said smiling at him

"You might with all the AP classes you are taking. Nerd." he coughed and I smacked him across the chest

"It is only four you dipshit. Leave me alone. We still have lunch and break to hangout together. Try not to miss me too much." I said pinching his cheek

"God the freshman do not know how to walk. It isn't that hard. It is a hallway people." Avery said angrily

"Hey Av there is this thing called breathing, you should try it sometime." I said patting her on the back as the bell rang

We all said goodbyes and walked off to our first classes. Well here goes nothing.

*************

My last class of the day was AP Biology. I walked in and took a seat towards the middle. Even though I like getting good grades I am not your typical nerd that just sits upfront in every single class. The bell rang and the teacher passed out the topics we are going to be learning for the year and started talking about what supplies we are going to need. About fifteen minutes into class the door opened and in walked Hunter Riley.

"Mr. Riley I was wondering when you were going to show up." Mr. Mac the teacher said annoyed

"Sorry I got a little distracted, but hey I am here now." Hunter said giving his charming smile

"Just take a seat please. Do not let it happen again or detention." Mr. Mac warned. Hunter mumbled something under his breath but nobody caught what he had said. The only seat was the one next to me. He plopped down with a thud and leaned back in his seat and relaxed. Mr. Mac gave us the last ten minutes of class to do whatever we wanted.

"You are the girl from the pool right? The one who saw us smashing all those signs down?" Hunter asked staring at me

"Yupp that was me. Why do you care?" I asked annoyed

"Fiesty, I like it. It's Chase right?" he asked and I just nodded my head

"I knew you looked familiar the other day but I didn't know you were the goody two shoes junior who is the captain of the cheerleading team. But hey in my opinion cheerleading isn't even a sport." he said smirking at me

"Ok number one you don't know me. Number two I am not a goody two shoes. And number three cheerleading is a sport. I'd like to see you do tumbling and still not call it a sport." I said smacking his arm

"I don't even know what tumbling is but I bet I'd be good at it. I'm good at everything." he said way too cocky

"I don't even know you and I can already tell you are very annoying." I said giving him a death glare

"Well my friends think otherwise. Have fun at tryouts today try not to get your skirts in a twist." he said chuckling to himself as the bell rang and he got up and left

*********

"Oh my God Hunter Riley is the biggest idiot on the planet." I said stomping into the locker room to get changed

"Why? What happened?" Avery asked confused

"He comes into AP Biology late and the only seat available is of course right next to me. He annoyed me the whole class by getting under my skin saying shit like cheerleading isn't a sport." I said all out of breath

"I didn't even know he knew us junior girls even existed. He must have the hots for you." Chelsea said high fiving Avery

"Yeah like I would ever go out with a guy like him anyway. He has trouble written all over him." I said finally getting my warm up clothes on

"You literally just sounded like a soccer mom right there. Lighten up and have some fun it might do you some good." Avery said slapping my back as we walked out to the gym for tryouts

Tryouts are simple the girls just have to nail a little dance routine and prove they can do tumbling and flying stunts. We just got through the tumbling and flying stunts now they just have to learn the routine. The dance routine is to one of my favorite songs at the moment called all hands on deck by tinashe. We taught them the routine for about twenty minutes.

"Alright girls it is time to put it to music. In five four three two one." I said cuing avery to turn on the music

The last time doing the routine I jumped in and when I looked up I saw Hunter and his friends smirking at me and mimicking my moves. I rolled my eyes and ignored them as we finished up tryouts.

We all decided who was staying and who was getting cut but I let Avery and Chelsea do that part. I hit some traffic on the way home but not much Thank God I was so tired after today. I parked my car in the driveway and looked over to my right to see my neighbor's outside. A woman was gardening she looked like she was in her early 40's like my mom. A boy came out my age and gave her a hug before getting into his black truck and driving away. Oh my god. Hunter Riley is my neighbor.
