The soft light of early morning crept through the blinds, casting a warm, golden glow across the room. Viktor was still curled up against Jayce, his head resting comfortably on Jayce's chest. The steady rhythm of Jayce's heartbeat was soothing, like a lullaby, and it made Viktor feel, for the first time in a long while, a sense of peace that he hadn't realized he'd been craving.

Jayce stirred slowly, blinking groggily as he woke up. He smiled softly at the warmth of the moment, not wanting to move just yet, not wanting to disrupt the quiet comfort of being so close to Viktor. His arm was still around Viktor, and he tightened his hold just slightly, savoring the closeness.

Viktor shifted slightly, his fingers brushing against Jayce's hand, sending a small, electric spark through him. His gaze flickered up, meeting Jayce's eyes. There was a quiet intensity in Viktor's amber gaze, a mixture of curiosity and something deeper, something Jayce couldn't quite put his finger on.

"You know," Viktor began, his voice still low, soft, and a little rough from sleep. He took a slow breath, as though gathering his thoughts, something weighing on him. "I've been thinking..." His voice trailed off for a moment, like he was unsure whether he should continue.

Jayce raised an eyebrow, sensing the shift in Viktor's mood. He gently traced circles on Viktor's arm, trying to reassure him without words. "About what?" Jayce asked, his voice quiet and calm, offering Viktor space to speak.

Viktor hesitated for a moment, then, almost shyly, his voice quieter than usual, almost uncertain, he asked, "What are we?" The question hung in the air between them, filled with vulnerability.

Jayce blinked in surprise, momentarily caught off guard by the question. But then his lips curled into a teasing grin, the playful side of him coming to the surface. "Well, what do you want us to be?" he asked, his voice laced with humor.

Viktor took a deep breath, his gaze intense as he looked up at Jayce, and for a brief moment, everything seemed to slow. The playful tone in Jayce's voice was there, but it didn't quite reach Viktor's heart. Instead, Viktor felt his chest tighten, the weight of his feelings suddenly far more apparent than before. Without saying another word, Viktor leaned in, closing the distance between them, and kissed Jayce. His lips pressed softly against Jayce's, and for a moment, the world outside of them disappeared.

The kiss was slow at first, gentle and tender, but as their lips moved together, it deepened, and the heat between them grew. Viktor felt a surge of warmth flood his chest as they kissed, a connection he hadn't fully realized he longed for. After a few moments, they pulled back, their breaths mingling, and Jayce grinned mischievously.

"Does that answer the question?" Viktor asked, his breath shaky, his heart pounding in his chest.

Jayce chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Not really," he teased, his grin widening. "I think you have to do it again."

Viktor blinked, taken aback for just a second, but then his lips curled into a smirk. He leaned in once more, this time with more intent, his hand sliding around Jayce's neck. The kiss was deeper now, more passionate, and neither of them could resist the pull. Their hands found each other, fingers intertwining as they lost themselves in the moment, the outside world fading away as they focused only on each other.

When they finally pulled away, gasping for air, Viktor smiled softly, his heart still racing in his chest. "Boyfriends." he said, the word feeling strange and new on his tongue, but also right. It settled into his chest like a promise, and for the first time in a long time, Viktor felt like everything was falling into place.

Jayce's grin softened, his heart swelling with affection for the man in his arms. He looked at Viktor, his eyes full of warmth and love. "Yeah," he said softly, his voice steady and full of sincerity. "I think that's what we are."

They sat there in silence for a moment, basking in the comfort of the new understanding between them. Jayce gently stroked Viktor's hair, his fingers soothing, while Viktor rested his head on Jayce's chest once more, feeling content and safe in his arms.

For the first time in a long time, Viktor didn't feel alone. In that moment, with Jayce by his side, everything felt like it was exactly where it needed to be. The two of them stayed like that for a while longer, the world outside slipping away as they simply enjoyed being together. Boyfriends, now, forever and always.
