I took a deep breath standing outside the room where my detention was being held, I felt my arms lift up and push open the door. This is so not how I planned on starting my Senior year, I have gone my whole life without getting a detention and now because of Kade I have two weeks worth.

Expecting to see a bunch of rowdy Juniors jumping around and causing chaos all I saw was Kade sitting at the back with his head down on the desk with his arms folded as if asleep.

Typical.

Miss Jenkins sat at the front desk scribbling notes down on what I assume were people's work. Noticing I stepped in she looked up and sent me a smile before ticking my name off a list and telling me to sit down.

Which I did, nut as far away from Kade as I could get, he would just tick me off considering it's his entire fault I'm in here, and yes I know he was doing it to stick up for me but I never asked him to do that.

Miss Jenkins caught my attention as she sneezed and I looked up to take her in, she's new here I think she only started at the end of last year.

She was a young teacher maybe like 25? If she's older she certainly doesn't look it and to be honest for a teacher she is quite pretty too. I couldn't help but notice the pretty peach sweater she wore over a white blouse with a pastel coloured floral skirt, she wasn't dressed in anything I would wear but it was appropriate for her job and I did really like her sweater.

At her sneeze Kade lifted his head and in the process sending me a nod of acknowledgement before settling back down, I however being the responsible student I am pulled out my homework and began.

"Seriously Dawson? You're such a nerd." His voice just made me sigh with an eye roll. I could have put a bet on it that he would make a comment.

"Well why not do it now? That way when I get home I can just relax, I'm just being smart Kade. If I were you I'd get started to." I muttered giving him a look and all he did in return was chuckle.

"Oh babe, I think you've mistaken me for someone who cares about homework." I didn't say anything in response to his comment and I just continued with my work. I knew he would glance over at me occasionally and I felt him look away before Miss Jenkins in a slightly lower voice than normal would tell him to do something 'productive' and judging by her slight blushes whenever he would look up at her she definitely had a crush on Kade Stone.

Huh, professional. Not.

I started to struggle on a question as they got progressively harder, and I began to chew on my pen with my eyebrows furrowed in concentration, pen chewing was something I had done since I was a kid when I wouldn't get work, it was my tell. After ten minutes of not even grasping the concept of the question I felt someone hover over me and knew it was Kade as he lent over my shoulder.

"You need help?" His breath was on my neck and goosebumps covered my arm, he took off his jacket revealing his tattoos poking out from his tee shirt before he sat down opposite me and began expertly explaining the question to me. Over his shoulder I watched Miss Jenkins check him out from behind and blush extremely pink, I wasn't even listening to Kade I was too shocked at her audacity.

"I didn't even think you showed up to class." I said chuckling as he finished and I got the answer out of him after writing it down.

"Yeah I show up, I'm not just a pretty face Nora." He said with a smile and I was taken back when he called me by my first name, for the first time ever I think.

"Guess not." I replied smiling, when he didn't move from next to me I spoke again. "Did you really mean what you said to Principle Gellar yesterday? You know that you did that for me?" I asked shyly, just wanting to know if he would do that for me. And if I'm sat here in detention I kind of had a right to know and would be totally made if he just made that up to get out of trouble.
