I twist and turn, before opening my eyes sighing. Since we were dismissed and able to get some rest, I could not sleep at all. It was eerily quiet in a room full of so many cadets and it made me nervous. I throw the sheets away from my body and sit up slowly, trying not to bash my head on the bed. I quickly lace up my boots, before standing up and trying to tiptoe out of the dorms quietly, without anyone noticing. I was able to successfully sleep out of the door and head outside of the building. Being able to star gaze usually helped me get rid of the nerves and be able to sleep. It's what I used to do when I was younger.
I walk, until I find a spot under the tree that I can sit against and look up at the stars. I rush towards the tree, but I see three figures in my path to the tree I had my eyes on. Their hoods were up, making me narrow my eyes to try and figure out their identities. As if sensing I was there, the one in the middle looks up and meets my gaze. Onyx eyes. Only one pairs of eyes like that. Xaden.
The other two look up as well and watch me as I walk passed them on my way to the tree, not caring what they were talking about. I sit down in front of the tree and rest my back against the trunk, letting out a sigh. I look up at the sky, watching the stars twinkle, clashing against the black. Out of the corner of my eyes, I notice two of the hooded figures start walking towards the dorms, while the third one makes his way towards me. I already knew who it was by the angry strides he takes to reach my side.
He stands above me for what felt like ages, before I met his eyes. They were full of rage and it was certainly directed at me. For what, I don't know.
"Nice night." I joke, trying to lighten the mood and he scoffs and crosses his arms. I roll my eyes, before standing up in front of him. Clearly he needed to get something off his chest, so why not. "What's wrong?"
"Why did you do this?" He hisses, grabbing at his silky black hair clearly distressed. I frown at how angry he seems and I know exactly what he is referring to. I joined this quadrant and he's angry. I'm not surprised, I knew he wouldn't be happy to see me here. "Why did you join this death college?!"
"I didn't have a choice." I say softly, leaning against the tree sighing. "Dad would have kicked my ass down that parapet if I tried to run."
"I'll kill him." He hisses and I roll my eyes again, forgetting just how angry he can get in these situations. I run my fingers through my hair and he watches my every move with so much intensity behind it. I try to understand what was surfacing behind his eyes, but it was too guarded. I couldn't tell and that frustrates me.
