•Chapter Twenty-One•

"Hello, hope you all are enjoying the food! Would you like any desserts or are you almost ready for the check?"The server said after magically appearing from thin air.

"Oh, no-" I cut Percy off before she could tell the server we didn't want dessert. Because.. I wanted dessert.

"Yes, we want dessert. Chocolate mousse, please."

She nodded, writing it down and going off to the kitchen to get it.

"Sorry. I figured.." Percy shrugged. "Dessert was always out of the question.. when I was a kid, I mean." She explained.

"You don't have to explain, I understand. However we're using Bruce's card in rebellion, remember?" I grin. "Let's get the dessert."

She smiled and nodded. "Okay okay."

"That's too new. I couldn't possibly.."

I groan. For the last half hour Percy and I had been looking at phones.

And every time I find a blue phone for her she claims it's too new..

"Come on.. Percy you're impossible. Just accept the phone!"

"What about that one.." she pointed to a gold phone, probably made in 2011.

I sigh, and pick up the blue phone I had offered last, and took her wrist. "Nope." I led her to the counter.
"Jason.." she sighed.

"Hey." I greeted the employee.

"Hi." She greeted back.

"Her phone was stolen, so we'd like to buy this." I placed the new phone on the counter.

"*phonetastic*.. there's a procedure for stolen phones.." she droned.

"What is your name.." she asked Percy.

"Percy Jackson." Percy responded.

"And did you buy your phone at any of the  *phonetastic* stores here in Gotham?"

Percy nodded. "Yeah."

"*phonetastic*! Well since you purchased your phone here at a *phonetastic* store, we have the ability to cancel your cellular service for that phone if you would like." She continued.

"That's good.." Percy nodded.

"Alright. And in addition, since your *phonetastic* phone was  stolen, any other *phonetastic* phones that you buy and log in with your account, you can cancel the cards and whatever else you need to cancel on the stolen phone."

I nodded. That was a good thing.

"Okay. So we'd like to buy this then." I nudged the phone closer to the lady.

"Okay. But first, would you like to donate 5 dollars to the *phonetastic* fund to help support our store from closing..?"

"............no."

"Well fantastic. I mean.. *phonetastic*."

"Cut all the *phonetastics* and get on with it." I glared. My patience was running thin.

"Sure." The still equally emotionless worker continued to drone.

She finally wrung up the phone and I placed Bruce's card on the reader, and it pinged when it took the payment.

"Alright. Do you want assistance setting up the phone.. or getting a service provider-"

"No." I glared.

I took the phone and Percy and walked out.

"Yeesh you like dragging me around or something.." Percy said after we had exited the *phonetastic* store.

"That girl was getting on my nerves. It's like she's not even a person.."

"But uh.. didn't we need to get a service provider for my phone? Since she canceled my last one?"

I shook my head. "I'll put you on Bruce's."

"What does that mean." She asked hesitantly.

"Bruce has his own cellular service. Just for him, his employees and his children. I'll put you on it. It's amazing.. you'll never be without good signal.."

"Is that okay? Are you sure?" She asked. "I'm just a friend. I don't think I qualify.."

"I'm putting you on it. Dont argue."
I'll also be able to track Percy.. but that's beside the point. I'm not doing it to track her. I don't plan to invade her privacy. Unless it's very very important.

Not that I haven't already.

"Okay." Percy finally relented.

"Let's go back to the shop, and I'll get you set up, okay?"

"Alright."
