•Chapter Twenty-One•

She ate the bite in embarrassment. Her cheeks flushing just a little.

"It's great food, I just like to savor it." Percy excused.

Or you're a yapper.

"Mhm. Makes me anxious that I eat too fast."

My plate was scraped clean.

Between Percy's yapping and mine lost in thought, my food completely vanished. Stolen from my plate without my knowledge.

Of course I was aware I ate it, it only vanished sooner than I expected.

"You don't eat too fast, I just eat slow. I have a small stomach so.." she shrugged, biting off the end of a fresh breadstick that also seemed to arrive between Percy's ramblings and my thoughts.

"So everything's been great for you, so how about your family in.. New York?"

Percy pretty much lit up, like she always did while talking about her family.

"Mom and Paul are doing great, last time I video called. And little Estelle is getting so big! I can't wait to visit them."

I nodded. "That's good."

"You haven't told me much about you." Percy mentioned between bites of tortellini.

"I'm a boring person. I read, and work.. and eat. I guess." I shrug.

"Do you sleep?" She questioned playfully.

"No."

"Seriously?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Of course not." I grin.

"I sleep too." I added.

Percy rolled her eyes. "Any other hobbies?"

I thought for a second. I collected books, especially old books.

And Alfred taught me..
"I play the piano.. somewhat."

She tilts her head. "Oh?"

"Yeah. Just a little. I haven't touched one in years but.." I suppose it was worth mentioning because I was hoping to get back into playing a piano. The only issue was that there was no way I'd use the piano at Bruce's mansion.

And I wasn't about to buy one either.

Percy hummed "Oh. Well I'd love to hear you play someday. If that's not too far out of the question."

I nodded. "No it's not. Maybe you will."

"You know, May has an awesome piano just hiding behind a bookshelf.."  she said nonchalantly.

My eyes rose to hers from my fork of pasta.

"She does?"
Don't act too excited. I told myself.

"Mhm. It's probably terribly out of tune but.."

I nodded. "Nice."
