Chapter Twenty-Seven

Y/Ns P.O.V

We were all in Gym Gamma, wearing our hero costumes. Cementoss, Midnight, and Ectoplasm were also helping the class as our provisional hero licensing exam was to take place soon.

I sat off to the side trying to think of anything I could possibly do for an ultimate move, but nothing came to mind. Putting my head in my hands I looked out at my classmates who were using the terrain Cementoss made to their advantage. 

Looking over at Katsuki, he was blasting explosions left and right, normal for him, but it was doing something. Something I couldn't. I wouldn't even leave a mark in the cement, I'd more than likely break my bones attempting to damage the cement.

I heard Ectoplasm talk to the other three teachers "Don't you think it's too much for her? She's had her life threatened and she's still in therapy." 

Aizawa just bluntly responded "She'll manage."

Hanging my head further, I placed my hands on top to slightly tug at my hair. Bouncing my leg, I tried to think. Nothing, again. 

Hearing footsteps coming my way I stood and jumped up, going to the roof where no one would attempt to interact with me. 

Sitting down on a roof beam, I continued to think.

SHOTAs P.O.V

Midnight froze in her spot as she had previously been going towards Midoriya, she turned and asked "Has she ever used her quirk like that before?" I could see both Cementoss and Ectoplasm nodding through my peripheral vision. 

Midnight was now looking directly at me "No." Letting out a breath, I explained to Cementoss and Ectoplasm "She usually builds her way up, as if on a staircase. She jumped straight up." Cementoss then questioned "So, she acts on instinct?" 

Ectoplasm hummed "Impressive, she has the skills she'll need on the field." 

That's when all the noise within the gym silenced, looking out at all the students I saw Midoriya on his back upon the floor. Ururaka rushed over to his side. 

I asked "Did any of you see what happened?" 

I didn't receive a response from Midnight, Cementoss, or Ectoplasm but heard explosions going off. Looking over I saw Bakugo going up to the roof, propelling himself with his explosions. 

Ectoplasm asked "Where's he going?" Midnight stood with her lips agape before she looked at me and asked "Is he going to Midoriya?" I shrugged.

"GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD IDIOT!" 

"Aizawa, erase her quirk!" I just glanced at her and asked "Why?" 

She stood shocked before it fell into sadness, shaking her head she replied "Just do it." 

Looking up, I just had sight of Midoriya, and once I activated my quirk Bakugo's upper body fell forward but he caught himself and rushed to Midoriya. 

Cementoss pointed out "She'll be untouchable with that ability." Ectoplasm hummed and nodded "Although a hero shouldn't just work to keep themselves safe. She'll have to add some sort of offensive ability that doesn't require hand to hand combat as the force won't even allow her to get close to her opponent." 

Midnight added "Yes, but if she's able to make the force go around her and others, she'll be prioritising the most important aspect of being a hero. Protecting those in need." 

Hearing enough, I called everyone to gather around. Everyone did, but Bakugo and Midoriya. Sending out my capture weapon, I brought them both to the ground. I noticed Bakugo's glare, but for once he didn't act on it. 

"Midoriya, I haven't seen you do anything this lesson, care to share why that is?" She looked over at me and it was evident she had been crying. I raised an eyebrow and she whispered "I couldn't think of an ultimate move." 

Clicking my tongue I said "Not good enough. Everyone, go change." 

Once everyone left, Midnight hit me across the face as I turned to leave "What is wrong with you?" 

I raised both eyebrows at the initial surprise but lowered them when asking "What, should I have condoned her not following the classes instructions?" 

She just yelled "She performed an ultimate move! She was given terrain to think about, not opponents!" I scoffed.

"No, she became emotional and blocked everyone out. She won't survive as a hero if all it takes to bring her down is her own mind." 

Leaving the gym, I saw the door at the end of the hallway that led outside shutting. Ignoring it, I headed to the staff room.

Sitting at my desk, I began working on things concerning class 1-A.

After some time Nezu interupted my work "Eraser, just the person I was looking for." Looking down at Nezu, he continued "Did Midoriya have an appointment or something today?" 

Why does everyone seem concerned with Midoriya today?

Letting out a breath I responded "Not that I know of, why?" He hummed, rubbing at his chin.

"Strange, it's just she has left campus. I do hope she is okay." Preventing myself from rolling my eyes I attempted to relieve myself of the conversation and it's topic "I'm sure she's fine."

Midnight ran into the room "Midoriya. She just saved a child from being hit by a car."

Y/Ns P.O.V

Pacing in the hallway, not wanting to enter the changing room that hosted part of my class, I overheard the teachers talking. Stopping in my tracks as Aizawa spoke, before I just darted towards the door at the end of the hallway.

Making it off campus, I roamed around the streets, wanting to clear my head. 

As I walked, tiredness began to weigh down on me. I couldn't understand why, I hadn't overexerted my quirk today but that's what it felt like. Letting out a breath, I pushed on, stopping at a crossing. 

Looking around, I noticed a child beside me that had their sights stuck on me. Forcing a smile, they grinned back, asking "Are you a hero?" 

Not wanting to lie I said "Training to be one." She nodded and cheerfully said "I want to be a hero when I grow up." I nodded.

"I bet you'll be a wonderful hero!" 

The pedestrian light control changed to say it was safe to cross. Stepping out onto the road, I began to cross. 

Further onto the road I heard tyres against the road and looked to see a car coming this way that was not slowing down. Looking down I noticed the girl by my side, still grinning ear to ear. 

Panic rose inside me and I quickly crouched, hugging her to my chest as I activated my quirk around me, I felt something slam into my outward force and could feel it continuing to push until everything became dark.
