"Lennox! Len, get up!" I was shaken awake. I blinked to adjust my eyes to see my brother.
"What the hell? What time is it?" I groaned, pulling the blanket over my head.
"Lennox, I'm serious we don't have much time." He pulled me up. "They will be here soon."
"What are you talking about? Who will be here?" I rubbed my eyes trying to wake up.
"You have to leave, dad is pissed." He threw a jacket in my direction and I noticed him shoving my clothes from my dresser in a large book bag.
"Will you just stop!" I grabbed his arm. "Explain,"
He sighed looking at me. "When you backed out of the plan dad still had to pay up. He didn't want to lose the chance at the alliance. Lennox, he is going to give them you." I froze. He couldn't be serious. I felt a surge of adrenaline and I turned, grabbing my phone and charger shoving them in my purse on the ground before turning to help him gather my things. "I got a car hidden up the street, it's an old Nova, it runs fine and no one will recognize it." He pulled out a key chain with a single key and an envelope out of his back pocket. "Here, I could only get four grand together. Don't use your card just in case and I will have your phone changed to a different plan in the morning."
I looked up at my big brother. He looked frantic. "Where do I go?" I whispered trying not to cry now. I didn't want to leave him but I didn't have time to be upset.
"Anywhere but here, just stay away until I reach out, okay?"
I bit my lip taking the money and key. "He will know you helped me."
"He doesn't know I know. Now go," He grabbed my bag and pushed me towards the window. "He has someone at the door. You will have to go through the woods. The car is on the side of the main road."
I opened the window looking back at him. "Thank you. I love you, big bro."
"I love you too, Lennox. I will tell you when it's safe. You won't be gone forever." He promised.
