Justin's POV

Being sixteen, overly stressed about being a goody-two-shoes, I lacked in being a popular kid. Not that I got picked on, much, but I was the kind of guy who'd rather study than sneek out to a party.

I had about four friends, and they all seemed to question my need to be smart all the time.

I had a hard working mother and father who were determined to raise bright kids.

She already succeeded with my older brother, Derek, He was attending college at Yale, and I had to compete with that.

I strived to follow in my successful brother's footsteps, and now I was an addict for learning.

But I still wasnt smart enough to realize my need for love, and my aim to get it.

Call me crazy, being a good Christian boy like myself, I knew that the taste for sin could always end you up in God's bad books; but I was beginning to lust for the Devil, and it left me confused and a little less smarter than I wanted to be.

______________

"Can you believe Mr. Stonewall's tone?" My best friend Chaz whined from beside me as the two of us entered to public library, "He sounded like a dying whale, and then he sounded like Darth Vader when he told me off for falling asleep."

I wasn't exactly thrilled about the conversation Chaz and I were sharing, despite my best friend being completely talkative about his experience with the Math teacher.

I was keen on getting a head start on homework, and not to complain; but Chaz was absolutely the worst work partner.

Even if he's my friend, he's absolutely naïve when it comes to common knowledge - not to mention the fact he hated school.

We were meant to be working on our History Project, but knowing Chaz, I'd do all the work and he'd talk non-stop about something that's happened to him, or something he saw on TV.

"Are you going to keep talking about that, or are you going to help me?" I murmured, passing the librarian at the front desk.

The guy had his shirt sleeves rolled up, and his feet on his desk while he typed restlessly on his phone.

I felt my cheeks heat up as I stared at his defined jawline and structured lips - and then there was his beautiful hair. Oh god, I just wanted to run my-

"Justin, are you listening?" Chaz shook my shoulder before sitting on the couch.

I shook my head, blushing as I took the seat beside him, "Sorry, I was daydreaming, what did you say?"

"I said I'd help, but I dont know what part I should do." Chaz pursed his lips, before glancing over at the librarian, "You know, I don't see how a guy as scary looking as him could work in a place like this? I heard he used to be in jail for killing someone."

I frowned at that, "We don't even know him."

"Jason McCann," Chaz looked back to me, "It says so on his name tag, and Ryan told me."

"Ryan makes up a lot of stories for attention," I stated, pulling out pencils and paper, "He likes to be the story teller."

"But he promised this was the truth."

"Chaz, Ryan wants to be an author, and write about drama," I laughed a bit, handing Chaz a piece of paper, "Pick an ancient land mark and we'll start from there."

"Great Wall of China," Chaz grumbled, "But Ryan's cousin Matt said he shared a room in Juvy with him."

I shrugged, "It doesn't even matter... lets mind our own business."

"Fine, but he really shouldn't be working here." Chaz stated.

"Oi, shut the fuck up, please, or get out of my library." Jason snapped his eyes towards us, narrowed and firm.

I bit my bottom lip while Chaz rolled his eyes, but began writing down what he needed to write.

What is so amazing about him? Why am I convinced there's something special anyway?

Jason's POV

I sighed at my phone, trying to find the words to reply to the message I'd recieved.

From; Luke H
Text; Marty is dead, man.. he was tortured to death...

Luke was a friend, a close friend, and Marty, well Marty was like a brother to me.

To; Luke H
Text; Who did it?

From; Luke H
Text; Same guy who killed Sasha and David... same guy who's killing us off one by one...

I closed my phone, clutching it tightly.

I'm sure the murders may have been coincidental, there surely wasnt some sick twisted serial killer out there, but I'd have to talk more about it later.

I was stuck working and I couldn't up and leave when I wanted.

"Excuse me?" A voice spoke softly, and I looked up to see one of the regular library goers.

I had no idea what the kids name was, but I'm pretty sure he was obsessed with me.

I was either being stalked or paranoid, but every time I saw the kid he was staring, talking or gushing about me.

Especially with his little friend he sometimes brought along.

"What?" I asked - I wasnt polite, but its not like my manners mattered.

"I was wondering if you knew where the books for the Great Wall were?" Justin mumbled.

"Tried the General Knowledge section?" I sighed, watching him flip his hair to the side.

I felt my lips twitch at the blush emitting from his cheeks that formed.

He was innocent, I loved that about the stranger.

"I did, but I cant exactly see up any higher than the seventh shelf; and there are a lot of books," He rambled.

I stood up, tossing my phone on the desk, "Okay, follow me." I said, leading the boy over to the General Knowledge section, reading through the listings.

I hated doing this but I had to to keep the job.

The kid stared at me with a smile, watching me eagerly as I stood on my toes to grab some random book called Secrets Of The Great wall, handing it to him.

"Thank you so much." He blushed, hugging the book to his chest.

"Yeah, whatever." I shrugged, "Now stop gawking at me."

His eyes widened comically, "What?"

"You heard me, I've seen you around quite regularly, and you always stare at me." I snorted with a sly smirk, "I get I'm hot but dont make it so obvious."

"I-I'm a Christian, I-"

"Just because you're Christian, doesn't mean you cant be gay..." I shrugged, walking off with a chuckle.

As cute as the kid was, he wouldn't want to get messed up with a delinquent like me; that wouldn't end well for either of us.

But for now, his little crush is just that, nothing to worry about.

Author's Note; Man Im rushing this too much, so sorry! it'll get better I think lol
