Forever Mine

Chapter 10: First Shift

"The only reason why I was a player was because I was scared!" He yelled, which sent chills through my mind. "I was scared because I thought I wasn't worthy of having a mate!"

His eyes became darker. He let out a deep growl. I could tell he was angry. Wow, werewolves sure have anger issues.

"I'm soon to be alpha of our pack. My wolf, Panther, kept telling me that I need to get my head out of my ass and look out for my mate!!! I kept ignoring him because I knew that I wasn't worth being a mate! I was afraid of screwing up a girl's life!"

"And then I met you! When I first walked into the classroom, when I first met you, I smelled a really weird scent. It smelled really good! Right when I saw you, I automatically knew you were my mate. Right then and there, I don't know what came over me. Instead of wanting to protect you like normal mates do, I wanted to play you!!!"

"I may be a horrible person, but you made me realize how much of an asshole I really am!"

I looked up at him. His fists were clench like he really wanted to punch something. He was really scary when he shouts. He can't possibly be wanting me as a mate.

"Why can't one of the slutty girls you've played with be your mate? I am not good enough for you! They're hot babes, a girl every guy wants. I am just a plain girl who just goes with the flow. Even though I'm popular, doesn't mean I'm pretty. I'm popular because of my rich family!"

"What do you mean you're not good enough? You have a perfect life, Rachel! GOD DAMMIT!!! You're even more gorgeous than any other girl-"

"Perfect life? PERFECT LIFE? Back when I was a freshman, I got played. I got played by a real bitch!!! He made my life miserable afterwards!!! I had to leave this school and move to a new house and get a new name. He was all I could ever have, but I guess I wasn't good enough for him!!!!" I didn't stop there, I just had to continue.

"And did I forget to mention my parents got a divorce around that same time? He was a big part of me, Zachary! But then he decided that me and my family was nothing to him and threw us away for some 20 year old slut!"

"Now tell me Zach, is that a perfect life?!" I shouted, tears steaming down my face.

He was silent for a few seconds. His eyes softened and he unclenched his fists. "That was you...?" His voice was soft and low, almost soothing.

"I-I'm so sorry. I-I never knew...." He muttered.

"Well now you do." I responded harshly.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my bones. My bones felt like they were breaking and every now and then I would hear cracking coming from my body.

I yelled in pain. "What's happening?" I shouted between my gritted teeth. I fell to the ground in pain. I curled up in a ball. It felt like really, painful, horrible cramps everywhere in my body.

Zach quickly knelt down beside me. "I think you're having your very first shift." He picked me up bridal style. "You look like your in pain." He chuckled.

"You think...." I muttered with gritted teeth.

The pain was so excruciating, that I suddenly felt dizzy. Next thing I knew, everything became black.

I heard faint voices, but that was it. Everything was a blur.

My eyes fluttered open. I groaned in pain. I tried to lift my arm to rub my forehead, but immediately dropped it as an excruciating pain shot up my arm.

My whole body suddenly became sore. It hurt so bad, I couldn't explain it.

I looked around the room. I smiled as I saw my room. It felt so good to be in here.
