Diary Entry 1
Today we are moving to a new town, Vaniville. My mom has been offered the job of a lifetime at their famous bakery so I am super hyped for moving and can not wait to meet new people at a new school. After all, Pallet Junior High was the worst experience of my life and I am glad it is over. I only had friends with similar interests to me but I felt like they didn't even know who I was all of the time, so I stuck out like a sore thumb on the outside of the group. Anyway, I got this diary as a gift from a friend, who said I should write about my high school life in Vaniville, and I thought it was a good idea. My name is Ash Ketchum and I am 14 years of age, my mom and me are close to finishing our packing and we will soon be on the road and heading to a home.. a sweet home.

I looked down at the diary and smiled, before shutting it and binding it shut, placing the pen in the necessary compartment on the end of the diary, like 3DS and its stylus. I looked outside to see the shift in seasons going by. Autumn time comes way to fast and it is such a big change from the 8 weeks of summer we get each year, with the sun beating down on us and the cool breeze on some days keeping the day perfect for going out. Now, piles of crisp leaves in a variety of colours are scattered across tree's and forest edges, creating a natural autumn look, yet it was September 1st which was unusual to say the least. I walked downstairs to notice the workmen shifting the last box into the van and it was like scoring a last minute point to win a game, because once those doors closed I almost jumped for joy. I looked at my mum, she was wearing a fluffy pink jumper that covered her tiny neck and whole torso, a black scarf wrapped round and round constantly, almost looking like some sort of mask, but two loose ends hung left and right in a symmetrical way. She had dark blue jeans on and finished her look with some fluffy, furry brown boots that just reached her shins. Me on the other hand, I had my usual outfit on. My red and white cap sat on my head, covering up the mess that I despise and know as my hair, a darkish blue jacket that was zipped up to a point where you could visibly see my black undershirt. My black jeans and black and red trainers finished the look and i was always happy with it. Being 14 and coming up to the big part in life 'growing' up, it was appearance and class that gained you popularity, something which I spent the last 14 years lacking in, apparently. My mom glanced at me for a second while I crammed my diary into my green and white bag. The green was almost a shade of white and matched perfectly with the circular pattern that formed in the middle. I looked up at her with an exciting gleam, one she hadn't seen since we went to disneyland. My mum smiled as bright as the sun and walked outside, to which I followed only to be met by a sharp wind that cut through me with a knife. I instantly reached into my pockets and shoved on my black and red gloves, although they were fingerless and that meant my fingers turned into icicles. "Ash, lets get this show on the road, hmm?" My mum stood impatiently with the van keys in her hands, her light brown hair swaying to one side in the wind, neatly tied up in a small ponytail at the back by a pink bobble. I nodded in agreement, it was about damn time!

We got into the van and as she started up the engine, butterflies had entered my stomach and I sat there, being slowly overwhelmed with excitement. I wonder if other kids feel like this when they move house? I thought. My mum looked like she was searching for an answer to my own thoughts, but she smiled brightly again and began setting off. Ash Ketchum is Vaniville bound!
