"I'm sure that's not fully true! Sure, his engineering skills are off the charts but your fashion is incredible! The fact that you're able to create pieces for any season, statement, or purpose says a lot about your genius!"

Mitsuki smiled, "I can't tell if you're a fanboy or if you're just flattering me because you're dating my son."

"I'm being honest with you. Both you and Masaru have your talents, don't sell yourself short."

"Well, I appreciate it. But, I have my ways of making sure I'm always at the top of my game."

Izuku began to see that Mitsuki and Katsuki had more in common than just their looks, which started to make him question something.

"I don't mean to pry, but anytime I ask Katsuki about it, he avoids the topic. I'm just confused since you and Mr. Bakugo don't seem that bad... Then again, I don't know how Katsuki grew up... Why-"

"You want to know why he doesn't like me."

"Well, he usually says both parents."

"Yeah, but he really just means me."

Though Mitsuki was still smiling, Izuku could tell it wasn't the same as the one before. It felt slightly fake, wobbling to keep stable.

"I don't blame him for how he feels. I was raised a certain way and I kept that attitude when raising him, though thanks to Masaru, it wasn't as harsh as how I was brought up. Always having to be the best, always having to be perfect, always having to be strong, but also knowing that deep down, there's still weakness you need to rid yourself of. It's a toxic mindset to have, and the fact that Katsuki was raised with not just a powerful quirk, but eventually presented as a prime alpha, he was quite the brat. However, most of that could be blamed on the tough love he was raised with, and as he got older, he started to realize how much of an issue that was on his growth. It shaped the type of person he was, so it wasn't something he could just get rid of, but he still hated who he'd become and blamed me for it. Nowadays, things between us seem to be better but, if he never forgives me, I'd understand. After all, I never forgave my parents for the hell they put me through. Why make my son do it when I made him put up with the same shit?"

It was a lot of information for Izuku to take in, but he got the gist of it, especially when he saw embers of it last night through their interactions. There was still healing that needed to be done, though Izuku wasn't sure if that was what Katsuki wanted. But, he started to think back to certain instances of Katsuki and wondered if it was possible.

"Kacchan can be rough around the edges, but overall, he has a good heart. He does seem to have a difficult time when it comes to you, but I think if he outright wanted nothing to do with you, he wouldn't have come here. Sure, he can say all these excuses as to why, but knowing him, I know he would've done anything to avoid something he didn't want. I think deep down, he does want a better relationship with you, it's just going to take time. If you're patient with him, I'm sure it'll come."

Mitsuki softly chuckled, "It's not often I hear such optimism. You're much like your mother in that sense. I can see why Katsuki likes you so much. I'm happy he's with someone like you."

"T-Thank you." Izuku blushed at the sudden blessing of his and Katsuki's relationship.

She set down her coffee, placing her hands on top of Izuku's, causing his eyes to meet with hers, "Even if my relationship with Katsuki is never healed, it warms my heart to know he'll always have someone like you around taking care of him and keeping him happy. He deserves someone like that."
