Months of endless training and preparations had gone by as the tournament day crept up on the students, finally coming to fruition.

It was normal for students to get nervous for the tournament, as it was similar to the usual exams others had to take for various classes, but with the addition of various professional heroes watching and judging them in the audience alongside their professors.

It was a huge deal as being a hero in this society was one of the most important jobs, and ranking at the top of the tournament and getting attention was a good advantage.

Those who had ranked high in the first tournament didn't feel as much pressure, as they'd already gotten their names and faces out there for the world to take notice, however, it would be important for them to show they could stay on the top despite more competition being added, as being a hero is a competitive job.

Katsuki and Todoroki, who placed the highest in the last tournament, felt somewhat nervous, but not for themselves.

Instead, they and their other group of friends worried about how Izuku would do in the competition, especially considering that the plan they came up with meant he wouldn't be able to join the tournament conventionally.

With Izuku being the only Omega in the course, he was prohibited from being in the tournament as it was an Alpha and Beta only battleground. This is due to the fights being one-on-one, with fighters starting with fighters similar to their strength, only going up if the fighters prove they can battle others with stronger physics and quirks.

For Izuku, he's never been able to show his quirk as he's never been given a chance, so they automatically assume he's weak based on his secondary gender, as well as the quirk-types Omegas generally get born with, which are usually not on par with that of a Beta or Alpha. The same logic applies to his physical strength, despite Katsuki knowing firsthand that Izuku is definitely capable of fighting an Alpha head-on, even without a quirk.

While they had a plan to get Izuku inside the tournament, it wasn't a guarantee they'd let him compete. It would rely solely on his performance and if the audience and professors were willing to give him a chance, as the point of the tournament was to prove your worthiness of being a hero and going head to head with strong opponents. Hopefully, if Izuku could prove that, they wouldn't care that he was an Omega, right?

That's what Katsuki kept telling himself, tightening his fists as he and the others waited on the sidelines of the arena. His friends could tell he was trying to hide his nerves, but the cracks were slipping out.

The others weren't great at dealing with emotional responses, especially when it came to Katsuki, but Ashido decided to attempt to calm him down, grabbing one of his shaking fists into her hands to put him at ease.

"Hey, I know you're worried about him but there's nothing to worry about! He's been working his butt off for months! He's going to do great! Believe in him!" She reassured.

Katsuki brushed her off and looked away while clicking his tongue, "That's not what I'm worried about. I know he's a capable fighter."

"Then what are you all shaky for?"

"It's the fucking assholes judging the tournament that I'm worried about. The moment they see an Omega in the arena, they might put a halt to everything and kick him out on the spot without giving him a chance. I just want Izuku to show em' how wrong they are about him and Omegas in general."
