- He sees new girl in study hall, quietly reading a Tolkien book and is intrigued. He introduces himself and is immediately drawn to her personality, wit and natural beauty.
-Through some questioning and awkward flirting he finds out that they have a lot in common, they like the same books, some of the same music, she plays D&D. Eddie invites her to a Hellfire Club Campaign, she says she would like to go, is super interested in joining but has games the nights of the club meetings.
-She is an athlete, but different from the jocks that he knows. He has a feeling about this girl. He does the unthinkable and changes the next months Hellfire meeting to a different day of the week so that she can attend.
-She quickly integrates among the group, her knowledge of D&D and her outgoing, slightly sarcastic personality winning over the guys, they all become fast friends.
-Eddie doesn't skip study hall anymore, looking for any opportunity he can get to hang out with her.
- Eddie lingers after school, inconspicuously watching her practice. Not hiding because he doesn't want her to know he is watching, it is more about not wanting to draw the attention of any of the 'Freak' hating Jock Straps like Jason Carver that would absolutely make his and potentially her life a living hell.
- She starts to notice his presence at her practices, thinks it is super cute that he shows up , and smiles at him in acknowledgement every time she sees him.
- The guys from Hellfire realize that there is a connection between their DM and their new friend,a lot of flirting, lingering looks. They start going to her games, encouraging Eddie to come along, hoping to ignite something between their two friends.
-Showing school spirit, attending sporting events was never really his thing, but he would go to watch her play, and knowing that made her heart swell, that he was there for her
- Sometimes Hellfire would sit in the visitors section and heckle the other team and their fans.
- On a dare from Gareth, Eddie steals the Hawkins High Tiger costume and wears it during a pep rally, successfully pulling off the prank for about 10 minutes, dancing around and being a smart ass until his true identity was revealed.
- There was something about watching her play sports - Soccer/Basketball/Hockey/Softball- her speed and agility, her physicality that really fired Eddie up.
- She was competitive , played with a determination and ferocity that he admired, giving 120%, she was fucking fearless, which didn't really surprise him because she was equally passionate about everything she did. The girl played every D&D campaign balls to the wall, never backing down from anything.
-She wasn't a dirty player, on the court/field/ice , but she definitely wasn't afraid to get physical, pushing, shoving or body checking, doing whatever it was that she had to do for her team and watching her intensity really kinda turned Eddie on, even though she was just his 'friend'.
- There was something about Eddie sitting in the stands that really pumped her up, made her want to do her best. Looking into the crowd and seeing those intense brown eyes on her, made butterflies dance around in her stomach.
- On occasion Eddie would hang back after a game or practice to give her a ride home. In fact, that was was how they finally ended up revealing their true feelings for each other:
She flashed him a smile and crooked her finger at him as he casually walked out from under the bleachers, after everyone had left, stubbing a cigarette. "Why don't you come out here Munson and show me what you've got."
" Well I would Princess but I wouldn't want hurt your feelings when I kick your ass." Eddie flashed her a cocky smile, even though he knew that he had absolutely no chance of ever beating her in anything.
