tuesdays.

they were mine and hers,
watching
the world's david beckham's and steve kerr's;
netflix;
going out for coffee;
spending
all the money i kept in my pocket
on her.

listening
to green day,
her favorite band;
and buying their records, for which i would pay;
i shamelessly spoiled her
in every possible way,
which, at first, she protested to,
but then she said, "okay"

days and nights

were spent with her, doing everything;
and we hadn't been together long
before i bought a ring.
but the ring wasn't for marriage proposal,
no, it was simply a vow,
that i'd be with her through everything,
through every up and down.

our shyness and awkwardness
disappeared,
now, love and friendship
thrives here.

and the promise i vowed to her
is one i plan to keep
until we are dead,
our bodies burnt
and scattered
in the deepest of caves
or
amongst blue-green waves
