Izuku smiled, taking a seat near Mitsuki and grabbing the book of memories.
Katsuki blushed, "Woah, wait a second, why do you wanna see that stupid thing? There's nothing in there that's interesting anyway!"
"Of course there is! I wanna know what you looked like as a baby! I bet you were cute!" Izuku started to flip through the pages.
"She was just lying. There's no pictures of me as a baby! W-Why would she care about dumb stuff like that?"
"Quit being a brat. If your Omega wants to see you as a baby, let him." Mitsuki took a sip of her tea.
"He has a name."
"I know. I just like teasing you about having an Omega now. It's so hard to believe."
"It's not that hard to believe!"
While Katsuki and his mom bickered in the background, Izuku focused on the photo book. He didn't know why he was drawn to it. Perhaps he was looking for a distraction from all the stress and this happened to be there waiting for him. Or just the mere idea of seeing Katsuki, who portrays himself as a super tough and hotheaded guy was once a cute, little baby at one point. Then again, Izuku has seen Katsuki's softer side so it wasn't too hard to believe.
However, as he kept flipping through, he landed on a page that seemed to halt his thoughts as some of the subjects in the photos seemed oddly familiar.
He recognized Mitsuki and his mother, though they must've been about twenty years younger, and with them were two babies.
That couldn't have been him and Katsuki, right?
But then who's babies were they?
They were both in clothing that covered their full bodies, as well as caps that covered their heads, so Izuku couldn't make out any defying features that would confirm anything. If only their eyes were open, that could be a dead giveaway.
He supposed it wouldn't hurt to ask. He was so lost in his thoughts he didn't realize Mitsuki and Katsuki were still arguing, but he interrupted anyway as it wasn't anything important they were discussing anyway.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Bakugo, could you tell me what's going on in this photo?"
"Honey, no need to be formal with me. You can just call me Mitsuki. Or hey, call me Mom. Whatever you prefer!" Both Izuku and Katsuki blushed at that, "Let me have a look at the photo."
Izuku moved the book over so it was between both of them, he pointed towards the photo he mentioned, which ended up making her softly smile, "Oh wow, would you look at that? I didn't even remember this happening."
Katsuki looked over as well, raising a brow, "I thought you said after we were born, you and Izuku's mom lost contact?"
"No, it wasn't directly after you were both born. It was a few months after to be exact. Babies are a lot to handle, you know. Especially, a baby Katsuki." Katsuki rolled his eyes at that and Mitsuki continued, "I remember now. This was the last time we met in person. We wanted you two to meet despite not having full consciousness. It would've been nice to see you two grow up together, but Inko and I had very different futures ahead of us... But, fate works in mysterious ways, I suppose."
Mitsuki flipped a few pages and stopped at a certain picture, "Now that you jogged my memory, I remember like it was yesterday. Although you both couldn't walk or barely see yet, you already took a liking to each other."
Mitsuki showed them the picture of what appeared to be the two of them as babies with their hands interlocked.
"Cute, isn't it? It's almost like it was meant to be."
Katsuki didn't quite agree with what his mother said for realistic reasons, but because Izuku seemed to be enjoying himself after the long day they'd had, he decided to keep it at that.
He had to admit, it was interesting to think he and Izuku knew one another and pups, though during a time neither of them would remember.
"Does that exist?" Izuku asked suddenly. It even caught Katsuki by surprise.
"Does what exist?" Mitsuki questioned.
"Fate. Do you think people may be fated to be together?"
Katsuki blushed that Izuku just blurted out a question like that. Mitsuki, however, laughed.
"I'm afraid I'm not sure. Maybe for some, yes."
Not exactly what Katsuki thought his mother would say, but with the language she had been using, he'd argue that's exactly what she was saying. But again, for now, he'd keep his mouth shut.
Whose to say that Katsuki and Izuku were fated to be together? What difference does it make? Yes, Katsuki loved and cared for Izuku very much, and he's sure the other reciprocated that, but would it matter if fate had a hand in it? They were just another Alpha and Omega in a world full of them.
Sure, they met as pups and hadn't run into one another again until college when Izuku broke into the Alpha dorms and they ran into one another by chance, but does that mean anything significant?
Katsuki would just call it all mere coincidence. Izuku? He wasn't sure what was going through his head now and perhaps it was best to make him believe whatever made him happy.
