"I-I suppose..."

"I'm rather curious about you, Midoriya. It's very unlikely an Omega could possess such an extraordinary quirk as the one you have. How is such a thing possible?"

That's an odd question. It makes sense to be suspicious, especially considering Izuku wasn't born with the power, meaning he wasn't truly any different from other Omegas. However, he couldn't tell anyone no matter what. He promised All Might, after all. He hasn't told his mother, and as he may want to, he hasn't even told Katsuki. He wasn't a fan of lying, but All Might said it was for the best.

"I-I'm not sure what answer you're looking for. I got my powers just like everyone else. I just happen to be an Omega that got a very strong quirk, is all." Izuku kept his tone light and ditzy, hoping the principal wouldn't catch him lying despite being given a typical answer he probably didn't want.

But, Izuku couldn't tell as his expression hadn't changed at all as they continued to talk.

"I see... You know, your quirk reminds me of someone... It's very reminiscent of All Might... Is he an inspiration of yours?"

Izuku didn't like the way he said that almost as though he was accusing him of something. He tried his best to keep his composer despite the mention of All Might slightly changing the atmosphere. Izuku just had to keep playing dumb.

"He's an inspiration to everyone, isn't he?"

The principal went quiet, Izuku worrying that perhaps he again gave an answer he didn't like, only worse this time around. However, after a few slow blinks toward him, his smile widened.

"I suppose that's true. Everyone loves All Might."

What a weird conversation, Izuku thought. He wondered what the point of all of it was.

"You are a rare case, that's for sure. I've lived many years and yet I've never seen an Omega with the strength of an Alpha. Perhaps the new generation is truly full of surprises. Humans are ever-evolving. However, as I'm sure you're aware, rules are put in place for a reason..."

The principal took a pause, only making Izuku more nervous as he eventually continued.

"Omegas aren't allowed to compete among Alphas. It isn't a fair playing field..."

"But... I proved that wrong." Izuku attempted to interject.

"Did you really? If I recall, the young man you fought was a Beta. Betas are practically nothing if you ask me. They think they're equal to Alphas, but they can be as weak as an Omega if fate decided to place them there. They only get to be heroes if they're born with the right quirk." Izuku didn't know if it was his imagination or if the principal's smile became more sinister.

He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Did he truly believe that? Did he see the world that way?

"But, what about me? I-I was born with the 'right' quirk, wasn't I?" Izuku wanted to get a better understanding of this man's beliefs, and he started to fear what his true thoughts were.

"It doesn't matter. You were born wrong no matter what quirk fate decided to give you, Omega."

Now the tone had shifted and the man before him started to appear more villainous than before.
