Reyansh's POV:

I'm sleeping peacefully after a wild night with my love. There's nothing quite like waking up with the person you love in your arms, knowing that you both have each other's backs through anything. Alice is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love her more than I love myself. These past six years with her have been like heaven on earth, and I can't imagine my life without her. Every day, I thank God for blessing us and pray that we stay together forever.

Suddenly, my phone starts ringing, and I quickly grab it so I don't disturb my jaan's sleep. She must be tired after our intense make-out session last night. I glance at the screen and see it's my mom calling. I brace myself as I answer, knowing how loud she can be.

"DAMN, THESE INDIAN MOMS ARE SO LOUD!" I think to myself.

Mom: "Reyansh Oberoi, where the hell are you?!"

Reyansh: "In my apartment, Mom. Where else?" I reply, my tone a bit duh.

Mom: "REYANSHHHH!" she screams. Damn, I'm in trouble she is very angry . What have I forgotten now?

I mentally run through the list of tasks she gave me, and then it hits me-shit, I forgot to pick up her diamond necklace from the jeweler yesterday. I'm dead.

Reyansh: "Mom, my lovely Mom, don't worry. I'll go pick up the necklace right now."

Mom: "What?! You didn't pick it up yesterday, Reyansh?!"

She sounds even angrier now. I realize I've made a mistake by mentioning the necklace because clearly, she's mad about something else. If it's not the necklace, then what did I forget?

Mom:"Reyansh Oberoi, you forgot that I told you to pick up my best friend's daughter from the airport today! She's coming from India, and I promised her you would be there. But look at my irresponsible son-he can't even-"

I cut her off before she starts her full monologue.

Reyansh:"Mom, chill. I'll go now. Anyway, you said to be there by 12 noon, and it's only 10:40. I'll leave soon."

Mom: "You better not be late, Reyansh, or you know the consequences. And behave yourself-don't show her your rude or arrogant side; she's family!"

Reyansh: "Oh please, Mom, not now. She might be family to you, but to me, she's a total stranger. So don't expect anything from me."

I end the call, feeling irritated. It's Saturday, and all I wanted was to spend the day with Alice. But now, thanks to Mom, I have to pick up some girl from the airport like I'm her chauffeur.
