"*Wow,*" Sophie whispered to herself, her eyes wide as she took in the splendour of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The elaborate architecture, with its sweeping roofs and vibrant colours, made her pulse quicken. "This is incredible."

"*Isn't it?*" A voice interrupted her admiration. She turned to see a middle-aged man, dressed in a traditional hanbok, nodding enthusiastically. "*It's beautiful, isn't it? You can feel the history here,*" he added, gesturing to the palace with pride.

"*It really is,*" she replied, her heart fluttering with excitement. "*I just moved here, and this is my first time visiting.*"

"*Welcome! My name is Mr. Lee,*" he introduced himself, flashing a friendly smile. "*You are going to love this city. Have you tried the street food yet?*"

"*Not yet! What do you recommend?*" She shuffled her backpack higher onto her shoulder, already envisioning the noodles, tteokbokki, and kimbap she had heard so much about.

"*Ah, everything! But you must try the hotteok. It's sweet and filled with brown sugar. Just perfect for a cold day like today,*" he advised, rubbing his hands together as if to ward off the chill.

"*Hotteok, got it! I'll find it,*" Sophie promised, jotting it down in her travel notebook.

"*Let me know if you need help finding your way around,*" he said warmly. "*Seoul has many secrets to discover.*"

"*Thank you, Mr. Lee!*" She waved as he walked away, feeling a warmth that only added to her excitement.

Later that afternoon, after indulging in hotteok and wandering around the vibrant streets, Sophie found herself standing in front of a quaint restaurant with a sign that read, "Taeyang's Kitchen." The tantalising aromas wafting through the open door drew her in.

"*Good evening!*" A cheerful voice greeted her as she stepped inside.

"*Hi! I'm Sophie,*" she said, glancing around at the beautifully decorated interior filled with colourful paintings of traditional Korean dishes.

"*I'm Kim Taeyang, the chef and owner,*" he replied, wiping his hands on his apron. "*What brings you to my kitchen?*"

"*I'm just exploring, and the smell was too good to resist,*" she confessed, inhaling deeply. "*What do you recommend?*"

"*Everything's good, but if you want something special, try my bibimbap. I promise you won't regret it!*" Taeyang winked.

"*Then I'll have that,*" she decided, her stomach rumbling at the thought of a hearty meal. "*And some of your iced tea, please.*"

"*Coming right up!*" He winked again and disappeared into the kitchen, leaving Sophie to absorb the lively atmosphere around her. Pictures of happy patrons, including some familiar faces, decorated the walls, enhancing the feeling that she was somewhere important.

Soon, he returned with a steaming bowl of bibimbap and a tall glass of icy tea.

"*Here you go!*" he exclaimed proudly, placing the dishes before her. "*Enjoy!*

"*Thank you! This looks amazing,*" she said, unable to contain her excitement. She took a bite, relishing the mix of flavours. "*Oh wow, this is delicious!*"

"*I'm glad you like it! Cooking is my passion,*" Taeyang shared, leaning against the counter with a satisfied grin. "*I love creating new dishes and sharing them with others.*"

"*What a fantastic job to have,*" she mused, impressed. "*I admire how chefs can create art from food.*"

"*It can be tough too-late nights, long hours!*" Taeyang admitted, scratching the back of his head. "*But seeing happy diners makes it worth it.*"
