That evening in late-July
Was one of great importance.

I'd always believed in beauty.
In any form.
Though I'd never seen it myself.

I went outside
When the sun was sinking low
In the sky.

Lighting bugs began to glow
The songbird's sang quietly
And I sat on my front porch.

It was then
And only then
That I looked up and saw the clouds.

A blinding beauty.
It was as if the Heavens were shining down on the world.
In hues of pink and orange.

I dropped to my knees, looking up at that sky.
And finally, for the first time in my life,
I saw the beauty in the world.
