Izuku's Pov.
Arthur and I went back to the others to tell them about the shelter we can stay at. A girl named Jenny Kirk died on the way to our destination.
Davey was badly injured and needed to be treated but I had a gut feeling that he isn't gonna last long.
When we arrived at our destination to the shelter, Hosea opened the shed door and carried Davey on a stretcher.
Most of us entered the shed while the others stayed outside.
???: Miss Gaskill… get that fire lit quick. Miss Jones, bring in whatever blankets we have. Mr. Pearson, see what we’ve got in terms of food.
A woman I met when I joined was Susan Grimsaw, or miss Grimsaw is what I call her. She is a tough bird to crack, I wouldn't wanna be on her bad side.
???: Davey's Dead.
I sighed and shook my head. The woman who announced his death, Abigail Roberts, she may look sweet on the outside but I wouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Swanson: There was... nothing more you could have done.
I sighed and put coins on Davey's eyes.
Hosea: What are we gonna do? We need supplies.
Dutch: Well, first of all you’re gonna stay here… and you are gonna get yourself warm. Now, I sent John and Micah scouting out ahead. Arthur, Izuku and I, we’re gonna ride out see if we can find one of ‘em.
My dad looked at him like 'Is he serious?'
Arthur: In this?
Dutch: Just for a short bit… I don’t see what other choice we have.
Izuku: 'sighs' Fair enough.
Dutch looked at everyone and gave a speech.
Dutch: Listen… listen to me, all of you, for a moment. Now, we’ve had… well, a bad couple of days. I loved Davey… Jenny… Sean, Mac… they may be okay, we don’t know. But we lost some folks. Now, if I could… throw myself in the ground in their stead… I’d do it… gladly. But… we’re gonna ride out… and we are gonna find some food. Everybody, we’re safe now. There ain’t nobody following us through a storm like this one… and by the time they get here… well we’re gonna be… we’re gonna be long gone. We’ve been through worse than this before.
A overweight man named Simon Pearson who basically a cook of the group. He joined our gang not that long ago.
Dutch: Mr. Pearson (Pearson looks at him) Miss Grimsaw (She nodded) I need you to turn this place into a camp. We may be here for a few days. Now all of you… all of you… get yourselves warm. Stay strong. Stay with me. We ain’t done yet! Come on, boys.
We got out of the house and into the winter storm.
Dutch: Well, we ain’t run into them yet. So… they both must have headed down the hill.
Arthur: Sure.
Izuku: Then that's where we're going.
